I would love a purple dog! its unique and fun and stylish. Dogs get groomed in safe and humane ways all the time! My japanese chin has a colorful cheerful bright personality, why shouldn't his outsice match as long as the product is safe. He doesn't like baths but we bathe him anyway.

I think it's more cruel to clipper a wirehair dog like a Westie than to dye it.

I'm pretty sure the dog will mind the itchy skin from the clippering much more than being coloured.

Yes, I'm a professional groomer and I do know what I'm talking about. I pluck wirehair coats with my fingers, I don't even use a stripping knife or anything, just like it is supposed to, and I do colour my MalteseXWestie, and he doesn't mind one bit.

i think dying your dog is good as long as you dont use any tocsic materials. it may look like its very red and dark but once you wash it off and let the dog dry the color will come out lite. :)

You would have to bleach out the hair to get a vibrant color, which you SHOULD NEVER DO to a dog. With a dark haired dog, you would get maybe some highlights from the color.
