The only problem with these dumb shows, like this one, the Bloodhound Gang, and the Hardy Boys et al., is that kids are never going to be smart enough to solve crimes and adults are never so stupid as to get caught like that. The funny thing is there never usually portrayed as kids at all, there dialogue is much too sophisticated and their reasoning and thinking is much too clever.
omg i remember this show.....i got grounded once back then and my father took my computer away......not sure why that made me remember the show but.....the compuiter was an atari 1200xl........
This is what I love about Youtube. You find shows you haven't seen in ages here. I loved this show as a kid...especially the cross-over episode they did with THE WIZARD. Is that one up on here?
im also looking fora show on cbs around the same time it was a family that gets stranded on a planet or in the future ijust remember futuristic clothes and scenes does anyone know what im talking about i always thought it was on after whiz kids or before im not even sure it as cbs anyone whiz kids spiked my inerest in computers thanks again
The name of the show is Otherworld. It lasted one season in 1985. I'm so glad there is another 80's tv junky asking about the same shows I have stuck in my head.
Wow! What a blast from my past. This was one of my fav shows at the time. Sure, they botched the technology, but it was the first show to put real micros in the spotlight, and since I was a budding computer geek, that was all that mattered.
I totally agree cedfr01. Much of my life interests (most notably technology) was influenced by those early 80s (and even 70s) sci-fi nerdism productions like Automan, Whiz Kids, WarGames, Tron, etc.
I only got to see an ep ot 2 back in the 80s. (Dad ruled the TV at night in my teen years). But this show reminds me of a hi-tech version of another show Matthew Laborteaux did in the 70s called "The Red-Hand Gang". There were a bunch of boys and a girl solving mysteries in this one too! It's on YouTube. Check it out and see what you think!
"The Red Hand Gang" Oh my god I haven't heard anyone mention that show in decades. I remember watching that on saturday mornings back in the late 70s. They don't make kid shows like that anymore.
- You know what really aggravazes me? It's them immigants. They wants all the benefits of living in Springfield, but they ain't even bother to learn themselves the language.
Thanks for uploading it. I'll watch the other videos another time. LOL, I love it when the little girl says "Your supposed to scream when you see a dead body, everybody knows that!" :)
Thanks so much for uploading this show! I loved it when I was a little girl and haven't seen it since. Todd Porter was my first celebrity crush. Ahhh... memories...
Hi this looks bloody brilliant, I don't think it was ever aired here in the UK but if it had been, I know I would have loved it. Stumbled on it looking for BMX stuff and I'm gonna watch the lot. Thanks!! :]
Actress Andrea Elson AKA Lynn Tanner from Alf is such a pretty girl! She's as cute as a button! She could be my older sister! I love her very much also!
Did you ever see Actress Andrea Elson as a guest star on Married With Childrem season 7, The Wedding Show episode back in the year 1993? She looked so Gorgeous as a bridesmaid in a black mini skirt next to the Foxy Actress Christina Applegate AKA Kelly Bundy!
The E.T. ripoff scene has not been uploaded yet, where they basically repeated a scene from the movie with the same kind of setting. But you're right, the bikes thing was there back in the days, BMX and bikes were in.
It was just getting interesting. I see what you mean about E.T. rip off with the bikes. That was just sort of the trend-hanging out with your friends and riding bikes. I did that.
Oh, also on the "it was just getting interesting" part, 5 full episodes are already up. You just have to look for the next segment to it, in this case Whiz Kids 1.2.
Youtube generally allows only 10 minutes per video.
Ritchie was also on the cover of Blip! magazine at least once, and I believe teen mags and junk like that. (Matthew Laborteaux from Little House on the Prarie) Michael Landon was the man!
Excellent archival work!! I'd totally forgotten about this show. The opening theme and credits definitely rang a bell or two, though.
Watching this, the show was surprisingly non-dumbed-down, and the technical stuff was even semi-reasonable. Pretty ahead of its time to feature facial recognition authentication like that.
There are 2 full episodes on at this time of '07. Each is in 10 minute intervals as you tube doesn't like long videos. Try Whiz Kids 1.2 for the next chapter of the full episode. Eventually the entire series should be up.
ahh yes shows and tv were so much more wholesome....even porn was more wholesome lmao
