Just discovered him through the Buddy Rich's Disneyland concert in the eighties. His skill, feel and energy on the bass simply blew my mind. I feel a little stupid being late on this, but also happy to hear from such a great musician anyway. He left us really early but seemed to have enjoyed life through his passin.

This is so sad. I discovered my favourite bass player and then discover that he died. Such and amazing player, great chops, feel and taste. And such wit. A real tragedy.
