  • SHE WENT TO MY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FOR A WHILE THEN LEFT...OMG.

She is one of the most talented young musicians I know. She's amazinggggg :D

  • Bravo! Keep up the good work. :-)

  • She plays as well as people in conservatory. No joke.

  • Anew beech feel

  • Bbnbkjbh

  • Sfdytyfdiydtiiyrdkvkchcjvhcjghgjchtdtyitdiyycfiiytdtodidgchghkcv

  • I have this song on my car. even the cd can't play as a well as she does

  • Why can't I be Asian...

  • For people asking for the pieces:

    1) Zigeunerweisen Op. 20 - Sarasate

    2) Liebesleid - Kreisler

    3) Souvenir d'Amerique - Variations of Yankee Doodle - Vieuxtemps

    4) Etude Caprice No. 4 - Wieniawski

  • Lovley and easy going....

    I love this Opus20...

For all the ones who are asking for the song!?!??

This first part of the video she is playing an Opus of Sarasate called Zigeunerweisen.

The second part is a composition of Kreisler called Liebesleid...

I love the third funny part.. Still playing beautiful and hard parts too...

    My best regards..

    //Michael

  • What songs is she performing?

  • can anyone tell me what the songs she played are called?

  • she needs a better violin

  • And she's quite articulate! Cute....

  • MY COUSIN!!~~ <3

  • how much does she practuce everyday wow!?

  • the old lady is more nervous than Sirena is

  • I'm sorry, but what a terrible accompanist...

  • amazing!!!! so proud of u~~

  • Lee

  • TED

  • Wish the pianist could be more responsive... she didn't follow well at all, and this is a well known piece, shouldn't be so hard to follow.

  • Jesus.. help me find my purpose.. lol.

  • flygiy

  • Its amazing she can go faster than the pianist......... o.o

  • C'est un véritable enchantement d'entendre ce violon vibrer, quelle maitrise c'est magnifique la façon dont tu joues du pur bonheur, Merci et félicitations

  • The pianist is so bad and don't listen to her :/ !!!! but she plays so clearly and wonderful, she has a nice voice and is very sympatic :) I like her !!!

  • @ChaltesiaAshley Haha Charly du bist so geil :D hahaha

  • WOW, BLOODDY WOW. And her thoughts and ideas were way beyond her years. Is there anyway we could have all 11 year olds think this well and with forthought.

  • @tinroofbusted why? That's not what being a child is about. Children are and always will be children.

  • @janagroepl Of course you are right, its been 35 years since I was 11 and I think I forgot that 11 year olds need to play and pretend and have just general fun. However you do have to admit shes a very well spoken young lady.

Far more entertaining then some of the talking heads that now address us on the TV today.

  • @tinroofbusted she definitely is... I didn't mean to sound harsh in my comment. (:

  • @janagroepl No problem I didnt take it in a bad way. Smile and enjoy the music

  • @KayLuv3333 Enjoy , music is worth the time to relax and just let it wash over you and take the stress away

  • @KayLuv3333 wonderful is it not

  • brilliant...and I am in awe of the way she expresses herself before an audience..she is indeed special

  • What's the haunting piece that's played before the 6:48 mark?

  • @Maddened Ziguerneweisen

not sure if i spelled it correctly...but yeah......

  • wow just wow

  • You are the real thing not just a robot. Bravo to you. You are truly a really great talent. I hear my dad play this piece. You're almost as good as he is! You need to get rid of that awful pianist. She does not deserve to play with you.She will hold you back and disgrace you. You should become one of the most famous violinist of this generation. I was so impressed that you even knew who Heifetz was. Excellent training. Lower you index finger and relax your grip. You will have a fuller tone.

  • I love it!

  • This young lady is a GREAT example of what happens when you grant a child the means to persue something they LOVE and are good at!

  • omg.....just...amazing....she's outstanding! I love the passion filled performance. just beautiful!

  • omg what is she playing its sooo good! who wouldnt like this?

  • omg what is she playing its sooo good!

  • @ptcyen Thanks :)

  • yay my cousin :D!

  • blackiris hasnt been to the finger glide??? his violin teacher must be wayyy slow my sister shes 9 and shes been playing violin for like 3 weeks and shes on the finger gliding!!!

  • @Heatherisawesome1000 im not sayin that i cant, im sayin that watchin her is incredible, i can do the shifts and everything, but in comparison she way better

  • i love the way her fingers glide across the entire violin, ive been playin the violin for 8 years now, and im still no were near that. YOUR AMAZING!!!

  • What is she playing!!

I know the first song is Sarasate - Zigeunerweisen, but i really want to know what the second one is.

  • Brilliant...a great violonist.. she is wonderful

  • Sniffle.... I could have been that great at 11... if only I had lessons. Good work though. Try to add more emotion.

  • legit

  • She plays nice ;) but I don't like her speech and that artificial smile, blehhh.

  • @ladyMandrake

I thought she was pretty honest, and remember the fact that she's in front of a large audience.

*shrug* I already feel nervous just imagining doing a speech like that.

  • I would have given this a thumbs up if it was DJ prodigy. How come classical instruments always get the shining light and not the really cool music?

  • @conillusionist Classical instruments and DJ-ing are two very different things. the first takes a lot of talent, while DJ-ing takes mostly practice and experience that a kid has, quite simply, not lived long enough for.

You may disagree, but then again, why are we seeing far more violin prodigies than little DJs?

  • asian people are too good at music, all my korean friends played like 2 instruments starting at like 3rd grade :P

  • Zigeunerweisen hmm.. totally reminded me of mambo italiano^^ so i guess thats where that came from^^

    Anyways, cool kid, great talent

  • when I listen to violin I close my eyes and let myself float with the melody if something goes wrong I open my eyes in pain , this one is totally a listen , close your eyes and float away...perfect.

  • i'm not really into this kinda of music but that was brilliant. this girl gave x amount of effort and time into this i'm amazed at what the human mind can do. to me this is a proof that God exists.

  • :O ...im at a loss for words. that was GORGEOUS.

  • 1:30-5:00 is my favorite part she played that amazingly and it was so dramatic and AWESOME!!!

  • Amazing little girl. If she's this good now, imagine her in 10 years. My favorite song is Pablo Sarasate's "Zigeunerweisen" which starts at time 12:57 which she plays beautifully.

  • i wonder how hard her mom had to beat her to make her do that,,, O.O i keed i keed... BUT SERIOUSLY!

  • wow ----- Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what is the second song? beautiful

  • It interests me how eager people are to find fault.

  • Pure talent!

  • Her intonation is god awful.

  • @andreasamati

You're attacking an eleven year old, playing Zigeunerweisen of all things.

  • @Nonman642 I know many 11 year olds that play better. I was not attacking her; just looking at her playing objectively. If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen.

  • @Nonman642 Seriously, he's not attacking anything. It's just a fair assessment. If no one made good criticisms of my playing or work I would never get better.

  • @andreasamati id like to c u play any better when u wer 11 years old

  • @andreasamati you are god awful as well =)

  • I wonder who wrote her 'speech'.

  • Comment removed

  • @andreasamati alright , racist know-it-all....

  • @martialmatherseminem I just said she plays out of tune and needs to use a metronome. How's that racist?

  • @andreasamati u talked about her oriental grammar mistakes and stuff. do u even play an instrument?

  • I've seen her perform live twice. She keeps improving... when I saw this, I didn't think it would be possible to get better. I was wrong.

  • @Nonman642 true that

  • What is the name of this song?

  • @pianopam1 zigeunerweisen (gypsy airs) :)

  • she is my violin teachers student, and is AMAZING.

  • yu goo girl !!! that was amazing

LOOL jokes when shee said when she didnt knw why she was here until she founded out she did !! :) sooo good x

  • Heheh. She's adorable, and very, very talented. I also don't doubt that she'll cringe at that speech when she's older, as lots of people are wont to do when they see themselves talk when they were younger.

  • She's also among the most talented pianists that my teacher is instructing...

  • lol she memorized all that speech but shes kinda cute

  • she's awesome. i wish i could hang out with her!

  • @offmyrockervideos she goes to my school. :) she's really really sweet and one of the most genuinely kind people i know

  • wow,,, ive seen many ppl play this, this is one is by far the best with respect to her age.

  • she is amazing...I really loved her vibrato

  • Go Sirena!!

  • you play amazing ... how old are you now? Im trying to play classical music for a while now on my violin and do you have any advice ?

  • @Sil3entAng3l she is 16 now

  • Its especially not easy getting a smaller violin to sound that good. Full size is one thing, but thats probably only 3/40 well done.

  • 3/40?? if shes 11 shes using a full size. i was on a full when i was 10

  • U have a really good future ahead of u I can tell you for sure.

    Wow that was amazing

  • After my goose bumps and welling tears subsided, I realized there is hope for the future and it is bright. Thank you Ms. Huang

  • you are a beauty.....a rare one....

  • what a completely marvellous human being! The world is to be your oyster - but this is two years ago, what are you doing now? What are you playing? By the way love your Heifetz joke and he would have been so impressed by your playing and your ability and confidence is wonderful

  • 3 years ago, actually.

  • wow!

  • its epicly good

but it some how seems wrong seeing a kid playing that...

  • Amazing Performance...

around 7:00, the running away scene from Kung Fu Hustle came into my mind xD.

Anyway, what was the name of the song?

  • Zigeunerweisen (Gypsy Airs), Op. 20, is a piece in C minor for violin and orchestra (or violin and piano) written in 1878 by the Spanish composer and virtuoso Pablo Sarasate.

  • Thank you very much, I knew the name but I couldn't remember.

  • omg! the violins crying!

  • WOW *O*

  • Comment removed

  • both she and her sister go to my school. sadly i havent had a chance to hear her play in person.

  • Taiwanese proud, I wish my violin can play as good as her, wishful thinking

  • WOW!!! it sounds great! those frist several notes.... amazing.Perfect.

  • Great!

  • splendid !

  • wow she totally deserves a stradivarius

  • lol very true!

  • wow i am truly amazed

  • She's inspired, it's very impressing...

  • beyond words. she has ALOT ahead of her

  • Possibly...

  • amazing O_O!!

  • ok after hearing the whole thing the piano should have just quit. Sirena is in her own world when performing the piano player should just get out of the way.

  • @daveadler haha agrreed

  • The piano is certainly necessary. Without the piano accompaniment there is no harmony, no chords. It was Sirena who erred at 6:50. At the beginning of the allegro, the piano plays the figure, and Sirena is supposed to answer in the same rhythm and tempo that the piano plays. Sirena came in early, and her tempo was too fast, and the pianist was forced to catch up.

  • To have a perfect performance, you need an accompanist that "fits" with the performer... Sirena is very talented and so is the pianist. Once in a while, they just weren't in sync? Eh, I've said my piece. Sirena's take on Zigeunerweisen is so far my favorite. I just hope I can hear her live someday...

  • @Pauken11 its true they have to be at the same tempo (for example 6:50) but sinena didn't really erred, She is the soloist. And I assumed she practiced it with this pianist lots of time before, and they probably agreed on a certain tempo for this part long ago. she wouldnt decide to go faster at the last minute, on this prestation, juste because she decided to. it was probably the initial tempo and maybe the pianist forgot it.. and then she really had to make the pianist come back to HER tempo

  • @IlEtaitUneForet She needs to practice with a metronome....It's hardly the pianist's fault when they're not together all over the place.

  • @andreasamati You're right, I did notice she wasn't with the piano, lots of time!

  • @IlEtaitUneForet Are you saying that the soloist can't ever be wrong? The best soloists are those who listen and react accordingly, not just go their own way and say "follow me!" Make the pianist come back to Her tempo? This isn't a tug of war, it's a symbiotic relationship. They're supposed to be a team. As a 40-year professional I know this to be true. Serena is very talented, but soloist and accompanist are a team, and in time she will learn that. I have no doubt.

  • @Pauken11 Lol the pianist was pretty bad...

the reason why Sirena chose her own tempo at the Allergo was because the pianist took a tempo way too slow...And the pianist had a terrible time following Sirena in the Yankee Doodle...

  • @pahul22 Are you a musician? It doesn't sound like you are. When a soloist and accompanist play a piece together they are supposed to collaborate, which means each responds to the other. As I said before, at 6:50, the piano plays the figure and the soloist answers. It's Serena's responsibility to listen to the soloist and respond accordingly. Serena is very talented, but she has some maturing to do, which will happen in time.

  • @Pauken11 Yes, collaborate but most of the decisions need to be made before you perform. If you are a 40 year professional, why are you on youtube defending a comment you placed on this video a year ago? I am actually a musician and happen to know Sirena personally having met her at a summer festival. Also, as a pianist, I have had experience accompanying violinists and what I saw in this video just wasn't up to par. Yes, Sirena has maturing to do but she deserves better than this pianist.

  • @pahul22 I was responding to a comment that just came up in my email today. That's why I'm commenting a year later.

Yes, decisions need to be made ahead of time, but in the heat of the moment things happen and you need to adapt or the music can fall completely apart. Neither soloist nor accompanist play in a vacuum. What was rehearsed isn't necessarily what comes out in live perfomance. That's the beauty of live performance--it's unpredictable, and performers need to adapt on the spot.

  • @Pauken11 But shouldn't the fact that she is ELEVEN YEARS OLD cut her some slack? I mean, I know I couldn't pick up a violin, much less play it at such an advanced level.

  • @steveon1178 I was not dissing her. Someone had blamed the accompanist at that point and I was just stating a fact that it wasn't the pianist's fault right there. Sirena is extremely talented. I'm not saying she's not. I was only responding to a comment about the accompaniment. Why are we still talking about this a year after my comment?

  • @Pauken11 actually, the piano was slow at the introduction before sirenna played..

  • @Pauken11 Ok lets get someting straight, she is 11 and if you had that musical talent when you were that age I don't think you would trying to insult an 11 year-old on youtube. And if you knew anything about accompanying than you would know that a good accompanist usually does have to catch up to the soloist and if they cannot adjust then they aren't very good.

  • @YoungMusikMaker Read my reply two comments up to steveon1178. I was NOT insulting her. I said "I was not dissing her." I said "Serena is extremely talented."

Read the whole thread before you make accusations that aren't true.

  • @Pauken11

I don't see the need for harmony, and I don't even know what a chord is, but I wasn't even listening to the piano once she got into it.

  • Sirena, you are great ! if you come to Europe please let us know it.

  • Absolutely brilliant!

  • it gives me the chills, excellent.

  • she must be the best student in her school

  • How do you memorize all that?

  • u play by ear , by then you know the piece pretty well. :)

  • whats the name of this piece?

  • Pablo de Sarasate, Zigeuneweisen. The bridge between Gypsie and classical virtuosic violin playing. Cool piece to play. The second one is Berceuse Slave i think maybe by Kreisler. Been years since I played it.

  • That was a very brilliant performance!

    - Zigeunerweisen by Sarasate

    - Liebesleid by Kreisler

    - Yankee doodle by Henry Vieuxtemps

What was the fourth piece? It sounded very familiar to me but I couldn't remember it any more.

  • Wieniawski. Don't know which piece, an etude??

  • I think it's Wieniawski caprice because I heard Itzhak Perlman played it with Pinchas Zukerman

  • She plays this with technical proficiency and emotional maturity that belies her age.

  • This young girl has everything going for her. "Sirena" a great name which fits the voice of her violin, a super technique, a lovely sonority, very moving sensitivity. Besides, she is a fantastic "speaker" and knows how to put the public into her pocket.....Great show, Sirena!

  • This is great!!!!!!!!!!

  • i can't belive she is so talented great

  • I go to school with her; I just got to hear her play today. She's just getting better and better and better.

  • i loved the one where it was high and fast it was beautiful

  • Does anybody know what the first piece is? This was simply perfect. xXx

  • u were a little off at 3:29 at the bridge u were to close so it sounded kinda tooo soft
