  • tha kid has braces ^_~

  • They had open blogs about their favorite music stars...

  • By gad..It's the wholesale decimation of the UK's Public Sector service workers! Those tories definitely know how to put back on the white wigs...

  • fuck SOPA

  • SOPA's like the british during the time of pirates and what are we? we are the pirates and we are free! yo-ho.....haul together hoist the colors high thieves and beggars neeever shall we die!

  • fuck SOPA

  • I always get goose bumps when they all start singing.

  • ok is it sad to say that i think that the officer listing all the rights is hot? not as hot as james (dont get me wrong) but hot

  • whenever i hear this song a fiery passion builds up in my heart and makes me think freedom and hope

  • @Cloud5472 movie doesn't say but if you see after credits.. he's Elizabeths son in the end! When I noticed that I was like... O.o hahahahaha

  • I like to sing this song while downloading stuff.

  • what did the kid do is what i wanna know

  • @Cloud5472 Starving kids who stole even an apple in those days were hung, it doesn't say why in the film but in those days it was common place. And hangings were equal to todays cinema entertainment to take the kids too.

  • watched the movie for the billionth time yesterday, cant stop singing this song! i love it! XD

  • Lol all the guards take a step back.

  • Most epic scene EVER!

  • Whyy did they start singing? Whyy is he like "finallllllly."

Why do they want them to sing? confusssedd. EXPLAIN PLEASE :) thankss <3

  • @Imma1Brick4Haus3 its a code

  • @Imma1Brick4Haus3 That means the Brethren Court is to meet, and allows Beckett to attack the pirates in one place-take them out all at one at the court's meeting place.

  • @Mimsy2770

Pay attention to the movie. The Brethren Court joined when they heard them sing the song because it was stated in the pirate code, not simply because the song was compelling. Also, Lord Beckett didn't know where the pirate lords were, but he knew where they'd go if they had to rally. And stop calling people morons, it's the Internet, people are not trying to impress you, they just want to express their opinions and they have the right to do so in any manner they please to.

  • lol

    sounds like SOPA

  • i flinch every time that lever is pulled... and the last one after the song concludes made me almost cry.... =,(

  • Met a boy 2 nights ago who looked just like this kid :) anyway..... I wondered... In the modern world, maybe lord beckett would have this on his itouch

  • Anyone else realize youth man (the little boy) has braces (between 3:22 and 3:26 when they sing: we shall die)

  • @serenaflora I think that's just the false grubby teeth.

  • Damn Disney, you scary!

  • i get chills every time i see this

  • Calling all thiefs and beggers!

  • @ravendestroyer Maybe, but the design of the knot is pretty effective.

You DON'T want to get lynched, that's the slow way.

  • well i must say they are humane they drop their hanged and didn't hoist them dropped means pretty high chance that you neck snaps if that doesn't happen you can hang for a long time living awake and aware

  • Some great shit here man!!! <3 sooo badass <3

  • Lors Becket, they started to sing...

    Finally.

    ???

What are you looking at? I like songs.

  • Comment removed

  • SHIT!!! that is really good quality. =]

  • is it lt.gillette? the man who reads the death sentence

  • Got goosebumbs!

  • it makes me want to become a pirate and go around singing this song just to see who'll join in with me then we can get all of the pirates together.... :)

  • @littledragongirl10 lol then you should go to north carolina lol there really is a pirate there xD he shoots blanks from cannons at british ships and they shoot water balloons

  • Do you not get it? Beckett says "Finally" because when the pirates sing "Hoist the Colours" in unity, the Brethren Court must gather, due to pirate code. He tries to destroy the Court, so he's happy they've called them together, and he can take them in one sweep. Of course, he never takes them, but we didn't know that until this movie ended. So stop making fun of Beckett, it's actually smart he said it. Some people have no common sense....

  • right to make epic and badass movie, suspended. shit, too late.

  • These movies are so Bad ass.

  • 6 british executioners

  • Lord Beckett, they've started to sing....Sir...........

    No shit!

  • Thumps up if u can see the kid's braces..

  • RIGHT TO SUSPEND RANDOM RIGHTS...

    SUSPENDED

  • @3j75 It might be on iTunes

  • Goosebumps, shittttttt

  • Right to keep your pants up.... suspendered.

  • Ah ah ! High quality ? No, but highly stretched, yes.

  • Lord Becket, they've started to sing...

Good, maybe it will drown out the termites in my wig.

  • It's such a dark and sad beginning! They would hang a kid if they suspect him involved with piracy. ;(

But its eerieness is so intriguing, too. He's singing about Calypso.

Somehow this makes it seem that if you sing with others dying with you, you can face death bravely.

  • Gives me tingles

  • @cyberbink so that's why they said "the song has already been sung"? I never knew what song they were talking about until now

  • you know after all four of the movies this is my favorite part

  • The call to brotheren... now we fight!

  • suspended... it's a pun...

  • "lord Beckett! they started to sing"

    "WELL NO SHIT SHIRLOCK!"

  • @nicothegreat795 OK!! We' ve covered that. Please move on. And PS It's spelled SHERLOCK! Moron!!

  • So basically what you people ae claiming is that Becket WANTED them to start singing because You think that the song itself had the mystical power to call across the world to the pirate lords and compel them to attend a massive meeting? Really??? I mean, really???

And BTW, the word you simpletons are looking for is, haunting. Perhaps you would find the purchase of a thesaurus useful.

  • @Mimsy2770; OMFG dude; research it and that's exactly what he was doing; Beckett was hanging them all to get them to sing; bringing all the pirates to one location where he could exterminate them all in one strike; look it up

  • This would happen if piracy (illegal downloading) would be punished by Death :)

  • oh i love this song

  • A lot of people said they didn't like the second and third movies. I loved 'em.

  • @bfauld agreed, I thought they were the best ones in the whole series. Much better than the first movie, in my opinion.

  • When I first saw this, I was completely intrigued by the mystery behind the song. I still am, every time I've listened since then.

  • I was always mesmerized by this kid singing. Surprisingly clear and sharp voice.

  • LOL, high quality sure, but its stretched out

  • Right to not drink tea... suspended

  • I want to hear a full song

  • @TheMonsterSkull

There are plenty of full versions... But none of them hold a candle to the version in the movie... If only they included the whole thing.

  • @NeighborBob The whole song in essence, is in the movie..... the other half Elizabeth sings when on the way towards Sao Feng's bathhouse in Singapore....Although if you aren't paying close attention you will only hear the main chorus of the song....

  • If you combine Elizabeth singing hoist the colors at various times of this video it creates a mental image of the Pirate Boatman coming to take the spirit of the accused pirate to Davvy Jones locker....Very spiritual yet startling. Like ghosts hovering around the gallows

  • @tubeyun Thats awsome! :D

  • Right to Sing Unsuspended

  • Lord Beckett, they've started to sing.. Sir..

    No shit, Sherlock?!

  • @feyenoord87

that guy is the grand grand grand grandfather of captain obvious

  • this was prolly one of the most inspiring beginnings of a movie ive ever seen

  • i wanna b a pirate sooooo much >.<....XD

  • @ninaakioto can i be your first mate plz?? ^.^

  • "they've started to sing..sir"

    "fuck it"

  • "Lord Becket, they've started to sing"

"That's great, but let's try not to copy a billion other comments on this video"

  • ''Lord Becket, they've started to sing''

    ''I don't fucking care?''

  • "...Some others have died are alive Others sail on the sea With the keys to the prison and the devil of readiness Paddling constantly Rises from the deep pit bell ringing As a sound sepucral Come to call back Final destination Yo, ho, all together Our colors rise Thieves and beggars, do not accept to die..."

  • Is that coin one of the nine pieces of eight?

  • @timonicious no the nine pices of eight are 9 peices of whatever they had in their pockets at the time thats just what beckette thinks it is

  • @MrLolcatsXD Thanks :)

  • Comment removed

  • Lord Becket was like five feet away, did he *really* need a messenger to inform him that they'd started to sing?

  • I'm the 123,456th Viewer =]

  • Right to hang people for being awesome pirates with cool songs...suspended!

  • this one of the best parts of the movie but it still makes me shiver watching it.

  • Ok to clear all wonders and questions the boy is not Jacks son, mr.Gibbs never says anything about gallows and pirates that is related to the beginning of the movie, unless there is something in the extended edition, there is no connection between jack and the boy other then piracy

  • what happened to the poor coin

  • @ChantingCheese beckett got all 9 of them

  • @omgitslive thanks :)

  • Hey, theres one man many of u have forgotten about. He's been in all pirate movies but "dead man's chest" Its the man at 3:12. His name is groves, In pirates 1, he alerted Norington of Jack and Will's comideering of the ship, in "worlds end", he is beckets right hand man, the one who yells "abadon ship" at the end. He is also barbossa's right hand man in "stranger tides.

  • @martinmystery100, whoa really??? I gotta watch the movie again!!

  • Also my friend's dad is Hans Zimmer, and my friend is Zack Zimmer.

  • They've started to sing

    Finally

    What do you mean

Every Disney movie has singing, it's about time it came to us.

  • ah!! how do you shares this on fb!!!??

  • boy, oh boy, you know it gets pretty serious if you can't have a jury of pears at your trial ;-)

  • @MazeThePlaya I think I'd go on trial just to have a jury of pears ;)

  • Can some one explain to me about this? Is this jacks son? Explain please (please dont get mad at me for not knowing) I dont remember mr.Gibbs every saying anything about jack having a son

  • @starsrule400 no the kid is a random cabin boy

  • "never shall we die" *got hanged* fffffuuuuuuuuuu

  • lord becket they started to sing

    really? no shit sherlock

  • "Piracy" meant something very different then. Imagine if modern-day piracy laws were this strict.

  • @RedaFox1 i couldn't agree more

  • The best opening scene I ever seen!

  • to hang even a boy at such a young age, beckett's a monster.

  • This actually isnt the whole song by Hans Zimmer, the rest of the song is sung by Elizabeth after the title screen, Continuing on with 'Some have died and some are alive' the the song finishing with 'Thief and beggar, never shall we die'

  • one m0:00re time!

  • 3:00 The look on the guards faces never gets old ^^

  • Is it weird that I know every word of this song? I mean... Its a pretty depressing song.

  • @jlstewart97 no this song is an amazing song no matter how depressing it is somethings the more fucked up they r the better lol

  • @jlstewart97 its okay, i just learned how to play it on mah geetawr :o

  • i wanna know how they caught all those pirates.

  • Yo, ho, haul together,

    hoist the colors high.

    Heave ho,

    thieves and beggars,

never shall we die --->>>Major shivers

  • I am sry to all of you who are stupid, but that is Jack Sparrows son. It specifically is said by Mr. Gibbs thats Jacks son had been sent to the gallows and this is it not some random kid, why would they put that in the movie. Think you morons.

  • @martinmystery100 Jack could've had many sons, but none of them would play an important role anyway.

  • @JuarezKoh He had 1 son and surprisingly he did.

  • @martinmystery100 where in the movie did Gibbs say that i can't remember

  • @WorshipLover15 Remember that part when they first get to him in Davy Jones's Locker, gibs tells him "The brotherhood (or whatever havent watched in a bit) are gathering, your own son has been sent to the gallows."

  • @martinmystery100 You could have phrased that in a les offensive manner. "No, that's Jack Sparrows' son. Mr. Gibbs said it himself later in the movie when he meets Jack at Davy Jones' Locker." Must you be a git about informing those who missed that bit of information? How rude.

  • @C00kieM0nster07 IM srry (less by the minute) But the first time I tryed to tell people they just dissed me, I had a reason to be pissed. so whos the Git here?

  • @martinmystery100 I'm sorry (honestly so) those people who're being gits to you( I highly believe they don't even bother to review the scene to see tath you're correct). But it's still you. You don't have to take it out on all who didn't understand just because a few still want to be ignorant after you tell them. Just ignore them; they're more likely than not trolls hiding behind the protection of a computer screen.

  • @C00kieM0nster07 Yea your right but anyway... THUMMBS UP FFOR JACKS SON

  • This gave me goosebumps

  • the kid was on the wrong boat at the wrong time

  • I love/hate this part of the movie

  • Right to wear a silly wig... suspended.

  • @wolf604 Right to get shot out in the forest wearing all colorful clothes :D WELCOME TO AMERICA

    suspended

  • Aw, isn't that nice? The kid got his own barrel.

Kinda like how people get alcohol swabs before lethal injection nowadays.

  • man the kid was like "alright lets do this shit!"

  • Hey I would run

  • That kid is REALLy brave, I'd probably be a sobbing mess in his position.

  • I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this is not actually the entire song. There is an entire other verse and chorus to this song.

  • @free2kill22

Can we get a link please?! 8D

  • One of the greatest movie openings ever. So epic and beautiful.

  • lets just hang the constitution?

  • Well, its nothing against electrical chair or stoning, both death sentences that are still present to day...can you guys believe that? Its just sick..

  • we REALLY dont need to see all those people getting hanged

  • This is so freaking sad

  • "Lord Beckett, they've started to sing sir."

    No kidding Sherlock!

  • you must admit, the hangman has timing:

"Never shall we die!" *pulls leaver* *they die*

  • 1:42 is when the song starts if anyone wants to skip

  • @booboo456852 thx it saves alot of time...

  • @booboo456852 thank you good matey NOW HOIST THE COLORS!

  • Ya they sang this song to declare war or rally like that one guy said and in the lyrics you can obviously hear that where we will well roam meaning we will do whatever the hell we want

  • beatiful intro of the movie!

  • Where we will we roam

  • Beautiful, horrible scene

  • I wanted to personally hang Beckett for killing the kid. He is just so cute.

  • everyone it's so awesome and beautiful.. I agree I can't say I don't but actually it's very sad.. I mean that little boy can't be that bad but he's so cute!!

  • I really don't get the relevance of this to the storyline. Does anyone else?

  • @DarkSunSentinels lol this is the story of the complete movie! listen closely and remember it. then compare it to the information you get at the end of the movie ;) the queen is Calipso ect.
