The movie is based off of a book called hatchi which is based off of a true story. The station is actually called shibuya station. There is a statue of hachi or hachiko there. I read the book... Quite the heartwarming tale. Hachi means 8 and that was his owners lucky number. If you want an in depth story, read the book. I havent seen tje movie but I want to

I'd been to the train station in shibuya and saw the statue of Hachiko. It breaks my heart each time i walk past the statue. To all animal owners: Don't ever abandon(or ill-treat) your dogs(cats, rabbits..etc.)! They may mean nothing to u, but to them, u are it's world n everything! They are very loyal at heart, but humans just don't see it...
