  • @duhbunker i cant take your comment seriously because of your obvious bias

  • FACT: APL DOES NOT GUARANTEE ANY INCREASE IN VERTICAL LEAP. Translation: A 1991 pair of L.A. Gear Catapult's will give you the same result. APL was founded by the vertically challenged twin sons of Mark Goldston formerly of L.A. Gear and played hoops at USC (The University of Spoiled Children). Nepotism does not transcend science or common sense. Ferengi Rules of Acquisition: "Once you have their money...never give it back." If it smells like snake oil, it usually is. NO DATA NO DUNK.

  • Hey dude, just as a question, how tall are you? I just want to get a general idea of how well they work.

  • If u learned how to jump u could be jumping alot higher ..just sayin it'll help

  • I got the apl concept 1s and they don't improve my vertical. So I wouldn't recommend them. at least I got them on sale..

  • This has a lot of flaws in my opinion,

LBJ's shoe weight alot more than the APL's

also, as a kinesiology major, with constant jumping movement, your ability to jump becomes greater, hence why it's possible to jump higher after a couple times.

personally i havent tried the shoes, but in most of the reviews i've seen online, its always the APL's getting the second testing. If it were reversed, and the APL's were put first, maybe then they can be justifiable.

  • @JSPFGA true. thats exactly wat i was thinking.

  • 0:32 "hey! how many times do i gatta tell you, get off of dat rim"

i'm guessing you're not allowed to dunk at that park? lol!

  • now, some platform shoes......

  • u give an explosive jump more with the apl concept 1's then u did with the lebrons so it's difficult to say they work better

  • Just to let everyone know all the tests you see on youtube are first time try's meaning they haven't broken them in or gotten used to them vs. shoes they have been using and broken in

  • they say apls are for two footed jumpers?

  • If you are a really good player, dont need this shit.

  • how tall are u btw? just wondering

  • 195$ basketball shoes for rich people

  • I have these shoes, at first i wasnt athletic and thought it would give me an advantage but it didnt, but once i started carin and realized im only gonna live once i need to complete my dream i began to boost my athleticism and basketball skill and such. Now, on Varsity as a freshman, this shoe prob got me there because i can jump 3 inches higher with these on than the pro module NIke Hyperfuse. So really, unless your a pretty good athlete the shoe isnt going to do much. Athletes it really helps

  • how tall are you?

  • maybe he just didnt try to jump as high with the lebrons?

  • I have bought one, and does NOT work. Take apart it, to find the true, just search here: Concept 1 APL Shoes Put To Test - inside uncover.

  • how tall are you??

  • How many times u gotta tell you quit hangin on that rim

  • It's a breakaway. tell that dude to STFU. he probably can't the net. haters.

  • Depending of a pair of shoes to dunk is kinda lame, but I gotta say that I want to wear these just once to fly.

  • Robbin, I got the shoes too, i'm going to make my own video soon,

thanks for this video, it was huge in my decision to get them.

    ;)

  • Why would you wear 300 dollar shoes outside??

  • I choose style over performance anyways...and these shoes look stupid. lol

  • @BradE17 dude the shoes were made for balling and balling is wat they'll do

  • @Bluddyshadowhell most ballers can't afford them tho....so fuck it

  • @BradE17 If all you care about is looking good during a game, then you probably suck. I will wear the ugliest shoe in the world if it gives me a advantage. And these aren't even all that ugly.

  • @swaguymusicpage if you think these shoes will give you an advantage than you must suck...I was just kidding. Obviously style is less important than performance...but this shit is just a gimmick. And if it's not just a gimmick...then it's cheating....that's a lose/lose to me.

  • @BradE17 I would never wear these, I wear the Kobe V's and Nike Hyperfuse. Both of those shoes have proven to be handy in the game of basketball....

  • @BradE17 you obviously can't dunk, or can't come close. but to those who can, this is a dream come true... i'm 20 years old, 6 feet, I can throw down 1 handers.. with these, my jumping/ dunking has reached a new plateau...

  • @Itachi9475 you're right...I'm not 6'7'' and haven't been dunking since early high school. And you're obviously not a total douche.

  • I think thats not true, and the position of NBA off banned is a perfect marketing campaing.

Look to the evolution of apl in alexa rank in the last 7 days? LoL!!!. 300 $?? ... from "i am nothing" to the "i am the new Flubber".

All people wants to see the new Nate Robinson, but magic dont exist.

    So ugly.

  • this was helpful i'm really considering them. def need to see more b4 shelling out 300 bucks tho.

  • guess it makes sense since you have $500 dollars worth of shoes there. LOL. good job. you play at LA Fitness on 18th ever? good games there. anyways, peace.

  • yep roxbury park

  • @robbinsvince

bought them two days ago and used them yesterday for first time playing volleyball. I felt the difference right away. i do not know how much higher i jumped but i know i jumped higher and had to adjust my timing on hits because i was jumping higher and jumping felt effortless. highly recommend for those who want an edge.

  • small world that i would look this up and live two blocks from the park you are at here- clearly Roxbury Park in Los Angeles. Just weird, right?

  • LASTLY HERE ARE THE TOP SECRET APL 3s. Still in their research and development stage but to hit stores soon.....

  • HERE ARE SOME BASKETBALL PLAYERS WITH THE NEW APL GENERATION 2

    l_pqyfNw-qc

  • B7quf66RzZQ

  • Sports Illustrated did their review of them and it didn't help one player and helped one guy get maybe an inch or so. These are just a novelty that will be made fun of by fellow players on the court. They will end up collecting dust in the closet. SHOW THEM WHAT YOU ARE MADE OF AND GET some REAL JUMPING SPRING SHOES!

  • the real question is, why are you wearing $300 shoes on an outdoor court? i would only wear shoes that pricey indoors so they will actually last a little while...and i'm planning on getting some of these...oh yes, i can't wait

  • the NBA has banned these shoes for unfair advantage so they should work

  • So how many inches would you say, that your vertical improved by?

  • could you normally dunk without the apl's on?

  • CAN U PLEASE UPLOAD ANOTHER VIDEO WITH 2 FOOT JUMP w/lebrons n then w/apls ? im interested but i dont have $300 to just blow . thanks

  • Comment removed

  • @FantasyGuru23 if u watched the video it was like 3 or 4 inches max. he could already touch the rim with his fingers and then was able to get the extra few inches to barely get his hand over the rim. no where near 8 inches.

  • I can get the rim and hoping to be able to grab it with these. Would you recommend them?

  • wtf i keep getting an error when i try to respond

  • im almost certain this is viral advertisement. I wouldn't consider buying a pair without trying them on and testing them myself but Im pretty sure there only sold online so thats notgonna happen.

  • @haggiss this is not a viral campaign.. this website counterkicks was asking for reviews, so i sent mine in and the rep asked for pics/vid so I took this at the park for them. I'm just a regular shoe enthusiast, tryna give back! lol

  • Additionally,

Do they work? It's hard to say. Although I did this a bunch of times, and they all seemed to be a bit higher with the APLs. I didn't just take the best one from APL and the worst from my other Lebrons. It was pretty consistent. So it seems like they do give you a bit of bounce.

And they feel great on my feet. They better, for 300 bucks. The materials are super high quality and I haven't really ever felt a shoe that conforms to my foot so well. Hope this is helpful guys.

  • Hey guys, sorry it's taken me a while to respond.

As far as the vertical leap, personally I'm more interested in the one foot take off because that's more of simulation of basketball, and that's what I was trying to test out. I think, from what I've read, the shoes are supposed to help with different types of take off, as well as first-step quickness. It's supposed to transfer the energy of your down-step into a propulsion upon take off.

  • Well EXCUSE ME asshole no need for the damn attitude,I was talking to HIM not YOU,and you can't "clearly see he got higher" because he didn't,he probably only got at the most 1 inch and that doesn't even mean the shoes were because of it stupid

  • @ricohcs23 ok sorry my bad u the boss lol

  • I don't mean to sound like a douche bag lol but it says it will increase your vertical leap, that means 2 foot take off and you only jumped off one foot,I'm deciding if I want to buy a pair and this is the only video I found. You think you can make another video of you taking off with 2 feet?

  • @ricohcs23 well it dosn't really matter! You can see he clearly got alot higher
