Nice, would have loved to have been there :) This is one of my favorite Temple of the Dog songs. Hunger Strike is so good for the Chris/Eddie vocals but this one just always got to me. Can I be saved? ;)
No he doesn't. It's Chris Cornell. They have very similar voices in the low range. Both beautiful sounding. But yea, Chris can sound like Eddie when he wants. His voice is the shit. So smooth.
"I didn't know it was the holy land but I believed from the minute the check left my hand..." "coat hanger halos that don't come cheap from television shepards w/ living room sheep and I pray. can I be saved? spend all my money on a future grave Oh, wooden Jesus I'll cut you in, on 20% of my future sins." He's mocking, being sarcastic. like you have to PAY to get into heaven. Same thing Jesus said about the Temple (hmmm, ...8) Blessings & Peace
there was allot of diverse music in the 80's (Industrial,Deathrock,Dark Wave Grunge,Rockabilly,Alternative Metal,Punk,Emo Hardcore etc.)but none of it was picked up by the mainstream
People never appreciate great music when it is made. There is always a huge divide between corporate music, and actual artists/fans. Who knows who is being drowned out by Britney and Toby Keith right now?
OMFG, fluttergirl1, if your a hot babe, marry me... U seem to post the greatest video's, i cant believe I'm watching the ONLY temple of the dog live video's,as this was the only live concert they did... just... just... fuck yes
diversve? hair bands? get a grip why not go back and listen to such shit as flock of seagulls or how about AH HA'S take me on. or how about guns and roses the poor mans rolling stones!
@fluttergirl1 ...walk in the shoes of somebody else.... i also was 7 at the time but very much into music jammin to metallica n getting in trouble at school for bringing use your illusion 2 to school..... hahahaha then i heard badmotorfinger and i've been hooked since. there are very few bands out there today that have actually made some quality music.... thats sad..

Not really. Similar voices that is. Well I guess it depends on who is listening.

Eddie Vedder does background vocals on "Pushin Forward Back" "Your Savior" and "Four Walled World" and of course lead vocals on "Hunger Strike"

It's about the hypocrisy of organized religion.
specifically, televangelists
think when it was written, 1990
Jim Baker, Jimmy Swaggart,
Jerry Falwell etc.
the 'moral majority' (what an oxyMORON)

the whole Seattle music scene changed popular music. it gave rock and rock hair bands a long needed enema! the 80,s sucked for rock music!
brushlick 5 years ago
The 80s did not suck for music.
The 80s was the most wonderful and diverse era of music we're likely to ever see.
Most of the grunge bands were bands that formed and played most of their career in the 80s, Soundgarden being one of those bands.
