It's from the original pilot... see the hair shorter. They changed the cast and he made a deeper voice.

It is Alex's voice at the beginning, that sounds like most of the VO on the show. Alex has used different ways and accents in different interviews, very versatile of an actor.

Can anyone tell he has a different accent?

i honestly cant distinguish his accent from us accent anymore. of corse im from australia too so thats probaly how i find it hard to see the difference in his voice in interveiws and on the show. sep on the show ive heard he puts on an american accent :S
