Man, Ian was my dad's idol in the 70s, that's how i learned about rock music - listnening to Deep Purple when i was 3, and in 2011 i still enjoy it VERY MUCH!!!
@dockaiser It was either as a back up in case one went off often feeding two separate amps . A common practice in those days. You'd be surprised how minimal the equipment was in those days. The emphasis was on BIG SPEAKERS and as many as you could get on the stage. Once a sound engineer with a mixer became the thing there was little excuse for a bad mix.
Oh yeah, the blonde at 2:05 is smokin' hot..,but a big thumbs down to the eye patcher, the apple eater, and the yawner...stoner/slacker gobshites! Wait..is that Wayne and Garth from 2:57 to 3:03?
dp will always be blackmores band he founded it, its to bad he left in 93/94, the uptodate lineup is good but you cant beat mk2, i have been a big fan of purple since i was about 5 years old they are the best, LONG LIVE DP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I watched this live on TV when I was a 12 year old kid and fell in love with rock'n roll. Been in the music business all my life and live in Canada now. This performance did really change my life. I have been searching for this for years. Thanks sooo much for posting this.
Ahhh. Yes. The days when you could smoke a cigarette. Or other things. At a concert. Those days have been gone since 86. Sorry kids. Concerts today are the same as going to the famnily orientated circus. Not the same as the so called. Days.
@MoonchildMindaugas2 pardon me for my mistake, actually,i made a comment like that before i read IAN's bio so....yeah,now i know that they were not really drug users in those days till now but thanks for correcting me !
