Wonderful song great words, just sent it to my lady, Gail in Morley Yorkshire. You might be one of the "!enemy" but you are a jewel beyond compare. Love S xxx
This was my era dancing around my handbag at the disco i was lucky to have been able to be in the 1970's era. Britan was cooking back then ha ha ha ha
Most Americans dont know the drifters, i know of them because my buddy is british, but parently they were just average here in the states and moved to the uk where they became huge, interesting story.
This is real music. When my dad was alive, And when he was married to my mum, Me, My mum, My dad, & my brother danced around the living room together to all the mowtown, Northern soul, all of the oldies favorited. Now hes died we hardly listen to it.. I'm only eleven, But I truly would pick this sort of music over what we have now. It brings back so many memories, When have I seen N dubz, Or Lady Gaga, 1D, Etc make anything as good as this? I love you dad. Never letting your music die<3

Beautiful music, reminds me of the 80s during my preteens, people being taken by bullets, and the "DISEASE," and me not aware of it coz I was a child then, and everything thing was magical and mama was strong and protective... this music also reminds me of the time reality hit me; I was suddenly a teen in full bloom discovering poetry, girls and hardship! I became a reader and man listening to wonderful songs like this!
NegramDKent, Thanks A Million Zillion! This is the MUSIC!!
One of the few things I am genuinely jealous of my dad for is the fact he was alive to see motown in its prime whereas I was born in 1992 and have had nothing but todays dire excuse for music to go with my generation. Although I didnt appreciate it at first Im thankful he passed on his love of motown and northern soul music to me. When I come to have kids myself theyll be brought up on a diet of Motown, Northern Soul and Rock and Roll
To all the teenagers commenting so positively about this music, thank you!! But I beg of you, share this music with your friends. Turn them on to it. You guys are the ones who will be shaping the world of tomorrow; it's music, it's politics, everything about it. So, become proactive. And if you listen to radio, let the stations know you want to hear this kind of music. If you buy music either via downloads, or physical media, be sure to spend some of the dollars on this kids of music.
Why can't they make music like this these days ? Or perhaps it is a good thing all modern music is crap, because it makes truly superb music like this so special and unique.
Back when my grandparents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1997, my family put together a video showing pictures of them over the decades. This song was played when it showed the pictures of them during the 70s. Great song!
I grew up listening to the Drifters... my dad used to sing this to me sadly he passed away when i was 13...... the Drifters will always give me memories of him xxx
It is one of the good sides of music. In the few words you write, I can see that you've had a wonderful father. And he will always be with you, especially through music.
@SmokeyRockRoller lol that is weird because when i got to work this morning this song just randomly poped into my head and i didnt even have the radio on lol
It means that a young person like you knows what real music is all about.
People who like stuff like Hannah Montana(Miley), Britney, JoBros. and plenty of other "manufactured singers" have no clue whatsovever. It's actually a HAPPY thing that you like, if not love this timeless stuff. Believe me, it will still be around long after alot of the modern "music" has disappeared from rotation
@Ashie162 this is just a secret passion ;) which is weird as my big music taste goes to bands like slipknot <3 but i do love some drifter and temptations <3
The golden age of music. Sorry Y'all missed it.... I haven't talked to the guys in a while. They taught me a lot. I toured the Southeast with them off and on in the late 80's-early nineties. I'm gonna call and tell them to look at your comments because it will make them SO Happy! I haven't spoken with them in a while and that's not right. The Drifters worked the hell outta me, but they taught and encouraged me more than I ever realized. They schooled me well. For that I am Grateful Forever!
I'm 17, and as much as I love todays music, you simply CANNOT beat this sort of stuff. The Tempatations, the Drifters, ELO, Four Tops, Detroit Spinners and Lionel Richie is where it's at! :D
This is REAL music. Real voices real instruments. Unlike so much that's out there today, "singers" like Hannah Montana, Hil' Duff, The JoBros. and a few others who have to have their voices electronically enhances and all that "computerized" music backing them up.
You can't get better than this. This is TIMELESS music.
