Me and my brother were in HMV as he wanted to get 1 & 2 DVD box set, then we saw they had number 1 on Blu-Ray showing and it looks a-maz-ing, so he went back and got it on Blu instead. Extra £4 I think it was.
Cool I will wait for Christmas For the Toy Story Trilogy on DVD not Blu-Ray. Here in the Philippines The Cost of the DVD Special Edition of Toy Story & Toy Story 2 cost PHP 750 pesos each, while the the Blu-ray cost PHP 1500 Pesos each.
do you actually notice much of a difference between toy story on dvd and toy story on bluray? my preconcieved idea is that its only worth getting bluray on the new movie releases because it's filmed FOR hi-def. Is that right or is there a difference in the reformatted 'old' movies?
does the blu ray version from UK have the exact same features as the one released in the US? Im planning on buying the special edition combo for both 1 and 2, but don't know if they have everything that is contained in the USA released disk. Please reply back! thanks ^^
What country are you in? I ask because I just picked up Toy Story 1 and 2 on blu-ray at my local Target and they don't have the blue border around the boxes. I also like your disc flap, mine(the US version) has a disc on both sides of the open case.
UK. I think it just varies from country to country. Like with my Wall E blu ray, they did not release a slip cover for it over here as it was only available in the States, so I had no choice but to buy the standard blu ray box/cover.
Well, it depends really. From my experiance the picture quality is just flawless, it is so crisp compared to dvd, sound quality, i cant really tell, im using a sony home cinema kit with surround so it just sounds like it does on dvd. is it worth the upgrade, only you can decide that really, if you know your going to watch these movies again and again at a later date, or with your wife, kids etc then i think its worth it just for the experiance as there is a big dif with dvd and blu ray.
But then you think to yourself, is it worth buying blu ray movies now as they're probably going to release Blu Ray 3D discs soon too? if your like me, and want a collection of animated movies then i think its worth adding to the collection. Sometimes i think its a waste of money and then i think but its HI DEF and what if it ends up being rare, lol.. the slip cover version will probably be rare at one point though for sure as theyll stop making it, just like lion king on dvd in the past
@Riddler95 I still have VHS and i think the quality of DVD and VHS isnt really that much different (depends on quality of tape) but i seen blu ray and tbh i wudnt waste ur money pal
lol, i've only seen little parts of each movie so not really sure of the names. The reason why i bought toy story is because i'm collecting all the pixar movies, i bought UP on release and still havent watched it!
I can see Nemo being released the same day as the Toy Story 3 Blu-ray. Which is likely November. Reason why is that Monsters Inc was pushed back a few months to come out the same day as Up.
Apparently, according to amazon uk, finding nemo will be released on 1st May. But no other sites confirm this from what i have seen. I'm hoping is does come out soon though.
that sucks! i cant wait for finding nemo, that'll probably be my next blu ray 1st May, and Dumbo 22nd March. I'm trying to collect all the disney classics and pixar movies (combi version)
@YourSayUTube when ours comes out, we get better promotions. we get a ticket to see toy story 3 for free with our blu ray combos, so at leas the wait is worth something :P
ohh..in that case your lucky! i'd rather wait knowing that id get a free ticket to watch TS3.. i want to see the 3D one, cant wait, hope they show it in the IMAX theatres! Do you guys get the Disney Rewards leaflets too?
@YourSayUTube i know on the disney store website, theres a disney rewards, so im pretty sure our release will have them. im not sure what they do, tho. and im really excited for the new movie, i know we're getting it in imax. but i REALLY hope the 3D doesnt try to go over the top and detract from the movie..thank GOD it wasnt called Toy Story 3D.
lol, oh yes there is, but its not available in the UK. I got it from Canada and as it's region free it works on any blu ray player! check on ebay they have it on there too. You would think it wouldnt work but i did a little research so i bought it before it comes out here just to add to my collection.

Is it worth the upgrade in terms of Picture/Sound quality?
I've already got the 10th Anniversary Edition 2-Disc DVD of Toy Story, and the Special Edition 2-Disc DVD of Toy Story 2.

you haven't seen the first movie and weren't sure of Woody's name, and you go and buy both movies on Blu-ray and make an unboxing video?
