Its a pity that the government want to Marginalise the already marginalised. @KamatChai-am not an expert on majimbo but Coast province was ranked the most poor province, not sure of their economic versus political strength.Mombasa city council is ranked low despite having the PORT and all tourist facilities.Education in coast is still on it knee, with this few observation am not sure majimbo would be good for Coast even though a coast resident.

It is only right they involve the local communities, it is their right that they be involved and if any jobs are createdthey be first to benefit. If this doesnt happen I foresee a Niger delta scenerio in Nigeria where locals have never benefitted from the oil that comes from there and in it kidnapping of foreign oil workers and ransoms demands are the order of the day there.

siasa, you cant say that. local communities need to benefit from the oil. If oil is found, I am hoping that it would help regenerate the whole of NE province who have been marginalised for years.
