It was a tribute to Michael.... which was sweet to do. Nobody could sing like MJ - just like nobody could sing like Peter and make his songs sound anywhere near as good as he does. I think it was done with good intentions - wasn't that around the time MJ passed away?

Yes, some MJ songs are pretty much impossible to cover convincingly... this is certainly one of them. But he did acknowledge that with a 'sorry' at the end... and it was more out of respect than anything else.

At least it was better than Coldplays cover haha

well, Michael was such a pefectionist so, without any offence, I'm not sure Doherty is the best to cover him BUT it is a very nice gesture, and MJsongs are so great that you don't even need a good cover :)

Son but c'était pas d'arriver à la cheville de Michael donc tant mieux qu'il l'est pas atteint!

En plus faut penser que en live les choses ne rendent pas pareil et le but était juste de penser à lui en chantant cette chanson! La preuve c'est qu'il s'excuse à la fin (y'en a beaucoup d'autre qui ont gaché pas mal de chanson sans s'excuser lol)! D'ailleurs à un autre festival,après à la radio(france Inter) il s'est encore excusé! Il veut juste faire penser les gens à MJ!
