  • so cuute

  • Wow. Lucky you! A friend's daughter was playing outside and a cockatiel just landed on her head and they ended up keeping it. I've heard about the dots or so on back of tail prob meaning female. How cute!

  • @Megtunes i know,we have biggo cats around the neighborhood. its a wonder they didnt make a colorful snack out of buddy. i had heard him calling for severarl days but i thought he was a wood pecker or something. he stilll makes that terrible screech sometimes (usally when the dogs bark).

  • people that hit the dislike bar, its the same size as yur penises

  • you sound like a pedophile

  • my disco chicken is not for sale(:

  • You Didnt Happen To Sell This Bird Because I Bought One Last Year Named Buddy Looks Just Like This One Couldnt Get More Identical

  • Lovely!

  • AAWWW!

  • And he is trying to impress you too.. little show-off....:):):)

  • No, your birdy is a little "dude".. that yellow head w/ bright orange cheeks- only a male indicator.. Female gray tiel are ALL GRAY HEAD, only with orange cheeks. So GRAY head- FEMALE gray tiel

    YELLOW head- MALE gray tiel.

Also if the underside of tail and wings are solid color- only a MALE.

Underside has more than one color= yellow dots, bars, stc- only A FEMALE.

SO yours is definitely a MALE.

  • @tati31251

thank you, i tried calling him buddette, but it just was not right. his behavior always indicated a male to me for some reason. i appreciate your reply tati. i am learning. (:

  • @tati31251 Not really. My female has bright red cheeks and a yellow head, yet she has laid eggs in the past.

The only sure indicators of gender are DNA, Wing and Tail bars, and eggs. All else are generally just myths.

  • @tati31251 Actually, I've got a yellow-headed grey, and... it lays eggs. So that formula miiight not be foolproof. xD

  • this is a male. he's just trying to act funny for the camera. I had one the same color that would do the same thing....

  • @ElJman85

    they are little mini hambones.

  • my buddy flew out ,and went to the very tip top of a tree. spent the night outside and finally came down. i stood calling him until dark. i was very thankful for his return!

  • wow i had lost mine and it would do the same thing.and it would whistle and d this wierd walk. miss him.. his name was filex

  • She is in birdy heat. :)

Has she done bat bird yet?

This is where they hang with their wings up and out and shakes her head and mabey chirps.

Its a territory thing. It is their way of saying, Mine!

  • @Raynedear1 yes! my buddie does like an eagel, and gets sort of mean on my computer table .she wont let me touch the mouse. i dont guess you can tell except by the birds behavior if it is male or female?

  • @Raynedear1 lol both my cockateils do that lol i wasnt sure why

  • That is the female sound for do me.. She wanted to mate with you. :)

  • @Raynedear1 this is my first bird. so you think my buddy is a buddie?

  • @phootyraskel That's a male, no worries. Females are yellow/white. =]

  • @phootyraskel My Bird Was a Unsure Gender due to mix of color or something but you'll find out in time. our Cockatiel Pikachu suprised us one day when we found an egg.

  • OMG mine is too named buddy
