Now it's true that in Matt 16:18 Peter is called a petros (a pebble) and the that the rock that Jesus built HIS church on is a petra (a great rock). Jesus was speaking of Himself - not Peter.

The verses supplied above (1 Samuel 2:2; Matthew 16:18; 1 Corinthians 10:4; Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalm 18:2; 31:3; Luke 6:46-49 and Acts 4:11) prove that in Matthew 16:18 Jesus was speaking of Himself, not Peter.
Also, Peter was not the 1st Pope. It was the sourcerer Simon Magus. See

The LORD's Name alone is to be exalted.
The title, 'Holy Father' is a title for God alone (John 17:11) -- hence for the pope to now proclaim himself a god on earth like Rev. 13:8 said that he would is a direct fulfillment of Rev. 13:1 & Rev 17:3 ~ the Great Whore [RCC] is blashphemous.
Note also that the title 'Reverend' is also to be exclusively used for God (Psalm 111:9).
Jesus denounced the Pharisees for doing just that, so would He also not do the same today?

@OFreegal PLease. peter couldnt have been the first pope. that is historically impossible considering the fact that catholicism(by ritual and tradition as opposed to the actual name)started way back in ancient Babylon;where,coincidentally you have the first mention of mass,cardinals,popes,confessionals,etc.so it is impossible.

@0893deuce Greetings. You are correct. Peter was not the first pope. The first pope was actually SIMON MAGUS who was actually a pagan priest which started the universal church of Rome. The Word universal means Catholic. He mixed paganism with Christianity and was in conflict with the real Apostle of Christ Peter. The was such a conflict between the disciples that even Luke had to record it in Acts 8:9-25. He is the first real pope. I am making a video right now about this. thx brother

wow... Thank God that He showed me a way out of RCC. I tried to ignore their false doctrines for a couple months after getting saved but that couldn't go on for long. If this is correct RCC better repent in dust and ashes and follow Jesus. He is the way, the truth and the life. :)

@OFreegal Why? This world is not about Church, it is all about the glory of God. We exist for His glory and are saved by faith alone which if real produces fruit of the Holy Spirit. I don't hate Catholics, in fact I like to consider them potential brothers in Christ but I want to have nothing with Rome anymore. My life is sold out to the Lord of this universe, Jesus Christ. You can not be saved purely on faith alone, you have to be truely united to Christ through Christians works and sufferings.

@OFreegal Salvation is by faith alone. If a person has no works to prove that they have faith their faith is dead but it is not works that produce faith but faith that produces works and obedience through the sanctification by the Holy Spirit, which is not a one moment event. We are being perfected/conformed to the image and likeness of Jesus in our walk with Him. There is a saying: "One becomes like their master.". If we are truly His, we strive to be like Him.

Even as a confirmed Athiest, I strongly believe that the nazi pig papa in roma is the son of satan. Just look into his evil eyes. What about all the other Biblical requirements for Antichrist the Pope FAILS to fulfill? He must be a king (Dan 7:24, Rev 17:10-12). The Pope's no king, much less a king of fierce countenance (Dan 8:23). He must be a military genius (Rev 13:4). He must come from the Greek empire (Dan 8:8,9). He must believe himself to be a God (Dan 11:36-38). He must also be "like a leopard" (Dan 7:6, Rev 13:2. NONE OF THIS APPLIES TO THE POPE!

As you can see, the Pope can't even fulfill the most basic Biblical requirements for the Antichrist. No surprise he can't fulfill the most often overlooked requirements of Revelation 17. HE'S DEAD--he lived before John's time, was dead by John's time, and will rise from Hell itself to become the Antichrist in our future (Rev 17:8).

Also, he must be OF the seven kings (world empires)--he must have ruled before John's time and will rule over the kingdom of the Antichrist (7th kingdom) in the future (Rev 17:10). Take off Rome which was in power during John's time, and that only leaves Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, or GREECE from which the Antichrist can come. The Pope DID NOT EXIST before John's time, the RCC, the Vatican, etc. did not exist either, until for 300 yrs afterwards. IT'S NOT THE POPE!
