I heard about that there is more to this then just profit. I heard that in the Occult the high priestess are always blonde. I reckon its a spiritual thing aswell.
so, what makes these so called media directors pick BLONDES as their favourites? what did the first blonde do to make these guys love them? i dont understand where the love came from.
@kimbaby411 i think it started when social media was originating, and the change from black and white media to colour, and the coincidence of marilyn monroe, who was a celebrity icon.. she gave the impression that the dominant and successful women had bleached hair. thoughtless humans simply repeat what they see, without creating something new. america was also going through a signicaint racial period. hence it has become knitted into the social fabric though many means. what r ur thoughts??!:)
hmm for me im blond and pretty, as i sit in my university classes i wonder at how many people will think im dumb and will fail, blondes are associaed with stupidity...I'm kind of worried how it will effect my career when i graduate, im scared people wont take me seriously *_*
I think that you have some very interesting points in this video, speaking on very stereotypical terms, and things that are fed through the media and such... But I don't think it is applicable to present these ideas in very blanket cases.
I, personally, do not think EVERY blonde female walking around is so confident and happy with themselves and that EVERY non - blonde person is merely living in the shadow of platinum heads.
But it is not only the blonde population of the school or the area in which I live, that are celebrated for beauty. Females with red hair and females with gleaming black hair are generally regarded as beautiful.
This leads me to believe that this sense of exclusion has more to it than just the media and the color of your hair. I think that if you are, yourself, programmed to think that you are special and unique and others act on this from the time you are young than you are 'beautiful'.
I, myself, am blonde. And I am not fallowed around by a trail of guys who inexplicably cannot control themselves because of the color of my hair. I am not considered extremely beautiful and am given little waver room to do so. Of course, I cannot be the only one... right? That makes little sense. I can think of four other people that I know personally, all blonde, who are excluded from the in crowds. Are we just uglier than most blonde females... Perhaps, but that is open to interpretation.
Also, many blonde woman are not wearing their natural hair color. When a girl is a very young girl her hair (if blonde) will appear bright ang golden or yellow/white. But as they pass through puberty the color often becomes muted or ashen, taking on either a more brunette look or a gray sand color.
Anyway, my point being that yes, I do agree that western media has an impact on the way people think - what color their hair should be, how thin their bodies must be, what skin color would be best.
While blond has been celebrated for it's color and uniqueness in modern societies, it isn't the only restriction on female lives and there are other things seemingly preferred in media besides the perfect blond locks.
Trends come and go and women should be allowed to express who they are on the inside to the outside without restriction. Though mostly the restriction is themselves replaying thought patterns, not through other people. It is quite a diverse world
Beauty is quite diverse, and hopefully all females can come to a point in their lives when they no longer feel restrictions from what they think they should be, but rather taste the freedom of who they are.
I am sorry to have left so many comments. If there are comments back I will read them but will likely not re post as my intension was not to offend or upset anyone, but put in my input.
@EbMbEr yes i agree, i think that the size and shape of our bodies are also a very important factor, stopping some women feeling beautiful and free. its just that this hair aspect plays on racial grounds as well, i find that deplorable.
@earthgirl3000 Thank you. I actually did not take offense to the videos, it was mostly the generality of it all that I found slightly irritating. Thank you for responding. The videos were interesting.
@EbMbEr i would like to say again that, please do not consider my video to suggest anything negative about you, or blonde women in general. that is not my aim!!! and i'm sure you are very beautiful even without any hair at all!!!! :)xxx
@EbMbEr i'm not sure i agree with you here. i think that ginger hair is rarely shown as representing feminity, they never show men respecting this hair colour. i agree - how you FEEL about yourself is the deciding factor. this video tries to show that the media STOPS non-blonde women feeling as good about themselves as they deserve to feel. therefore, its a vicious cycle...
@EbMbEr hey thank you so much for your input! dont worry you didn't write too much i appreciate your comments! well exactly, i think a lot of 'blonde' women aren't so confident, because they have been pushed into the scam as well - they are not allowed to have genuine confidence in themselves and have their natural hair. they must purchase the bleach. at the same time, when they do buy the bleach, they in effect 'buy' the privilege to represent a more powerful representation of feminity...
You say it's wrong to say a blonde woman is more beautyful, but to say it in your words that's just YOUR opinion, not a fact, these videos are so annoying you explain everything as if you were explaining it to 2 yr olds! WE R NOT STUPID
This video is actually about black women vs. non black women.
