  • U guys are takin too much offense to Benoit...he killed his family but that does not take away his in-ring accomplishments, u perfect internet darlings need 2 get off ur perfect high horse...u didn't know his personal sufferings and hes gone now so stop throwing stones

  • Actually Benoit said Sullivan never took liberties in the ring and was very professional

  • Classick

  • Everybody needs to remember that Kevin Sullivan suggested to Nancy to be Chris's manager, because it looked good and made sense for business.Women(Nancy) was also Benoit's manager in ECW,so it was just common sense.

  • This match made me like WCW

  • HE HIT HIM WITH SOME TOILET PAPA

  • This had to be the best rivals in WCW outside the NWO storyline.

  • This was really a great match. Very underrated. I remember watching this. These were the kinds of matches that made WCW so great.

  • @danteras23 damn right man! WCW kicked so much ass in the early to mid 90s. 96 was the year that WWF and WCW (for me) were equal. After 96, WCW started a downhill slide (nWo got boring QUICK) and WWF moved into the Attitude era, but for that one year, everything was gold. 1996 was like WCW's Attitude era.

  • @krazyzark WCW was better than the WWF for a couple of years I thought. I always liked WCW more. I was never a big WWF fan. I was rooting for WCW to put the WWF out of business. They made a lot of mistakes. The biggest one was letting guys like Giant, Jericho, Benoit, Guerrero, etc. go. They let the NWO gain too much power and neglected some of their young stars. It was a great time in wrestling though.

  • I can say with full pride that I was there for this match. When they took the fight to the ladies room, I was one of the first ones to make it in there. It was crazy cause i remember the lady that was in there cause i was right next to her. The wild thing is, i don't think security expected so many people to follow the action all the way into the bathroom so in an effort to protect the wrestlers, they tried their best to barricade the crowd, going as far as to threaten the use of pepper spray!

  • task master was a nasty man yo forreal he was vicious all through his career

  • Dusty Rhodes is WAY too enthused about that washroom, even by fat dumb Texan standards. I don't care if it is "where the big boys play", it's still just a washroom. I hope somebody remembered to bring that sad sack some toilet paper for all the shit and jizz he left on the broadcast table.

Also, Benoit's generic jobber entrance "music" rocks! Admit it.

  • whoa, i'll bet those guys that are in the bathroom in that arena is proberly getting their money's worth.

  • Can someone explain the purpose of 2 referees following the action from the beginning of the match?

  • watch two guys with legit heat between them potatoe eachother for 15 minutes? sign me up

  • This ain't no ECW for sure!

  • This was Pillman storyline weren't it?

  • @Shoethiefking I believe so.

  • I'm sure I probably commented this a few years ago... BUT THERE'S A WOMAN IN THE MEN'TH ROOM!!!!

  • @DFV12687 you know he wanted to bust a nut when he saw "A WOMAN IN THE MEN'S BATHROOM!!!!!!!!"

  • this was a classic match from an era when WCW was something worth watching, too bad it went down hill and isnt even remembered anymore

  • See this is classic. I wish WWE would bring back matches like this

  • It would've been funny if the fight spilled over into the woman's restroom.

"HE SLAMMED HIM INTO THA' TAMPAWN DISPENSUH~!!" something like that XDD

  • These were some of my favorite matches...man, did these two hate each other!!

  • i was there. Gotta love the dream 'THERES A LADY, THERES A LADY IN THE MENS BATHROOM

  • Sullivan did all he could in WCW to make Benoit miserable, but Chris stood tall until he won the world title. After that, he was outta that hell hole. Originally, half of the WCW roster was leaving with him, but most of em pussied out. Saturn, Malenko and Guerrero pulled through. They were tired of Sulllivan's politics and took a cut in pay to go to the WWF.

  • Who the fuck are you? Don't trash me because I hitched my wagon to the better man. That outta shape faggot was up Hogan's ass the whole time in WCW. It got him a cushy job of fucking up a company that had the greatest roster ever. Chris Benoit outshines any of Sullivan's accomplishments tenfold, and none of it was due to politics.

  • Benoit may have been a roid rage murderer, but while in WCW, he was one hell of a wrestler. I felt him and Jericho leaving, more so than the others, was the beginning of the end for WCW.

  • I disagree about the roid rage murderer part, but yes. WCW didn't have a leg to stand on once the Radicalz left. I mean, what does it say when your champion leaves for the competition right after winning the title?

  • @ KingofMarks91 I am really not trying to come off as an asshole. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But what, exactly, do you disagree with about Benoit being a roid-raging murderer?? I don't blame the murders solely on roid rage but i am curious as to where you are going with that statement.

  • @untuchable0417 Well, if he did in fact kill Nancy and Daniel, then it had nothing to do with steroids or rage. The killings were methodical and planned out over a number of days. No blind rage of violence. And if anyone is a roid monster, it's not 5'11 220 lbs Benoit. Sure, he may have used them, but was nowhere near the point of using them like a lot of prowrestlers had and still do.

  • @KingofMarks91 While i agree that the murders were not based solely around roid rage, i think it is possible that the first murder, the murder of Nancy, could possibly have happened due to a fit of roid rage. The rest was very methodical, yes. I also think it a little silly to say "if" Benoit killed them. And, he was known to be juicing to ridiculous levels for many, many years. He was 224lbs on a frame that shouldn't carry more than 180. He was juiced HARD.

  • and just to think nancy was sullivans wife benoit stole her had a retard son and then killed them both his whole career will be outshone by being a murdering son of a bitch

  • @ toad14444 Daniel Benoit (Chris and Nancy's son) was not retarded. In fact, at this stage, there is no actual evidence that he was suffering with Fragile X at all

  • Hes now suffering from a fragile neck, Badum tish.

  • @KingofMarks91 how can you even say anything positive about benoit, HE FUCKING KILLED 3 PEOPLE. dumbshit

  • @nexivdr olny positive things are about his wrestling career but outside of wrestling know one liked what he did so people like him as a wrestler not as a person outside of wrestling

  • u self absorbed cock sucking son of a whore ass bitch!!!

  • idiot -,-

  • R.I.P Chris Benoit.

  • Isnt it strange punches land down ,as aposde land straight.

    FIXED.

  • Long Live Dusty Rhodes

  • Isn't there some match between Kevin Sullivan and Chris Benoit where Woman and Jacqueline have to be tied together or something???

  • superbrawl 1997

  • yes I wish I could find that match. It was awesome!

  • Someone on here told me that match was from Superbrawl 97. Its not on here but I did find the match at dailymotion

  • GREAT MATCH. two tough sob's fighting ;] the taskmaster should have jumped to wwf after the nwo took over the top spots and just about every match

  • It sucks that the WWE dropped 'The Geat American " part and it's patriotic theme and just named the PPV "The Bash". Like it's almost a crime to be patriotic nowadays.

  • fuckin sullivan barely sells to benoit

  • Vince thought that the title sounded too much like WCW (duh), so he wanted the name changed.

  • @TeamTote But Vince also loved the name "The Great American Bash". He even publicly admited he wish he came up with it and gave Dusty a lot of credit for a lot of the PPV names he came up with.

  • @TeamTote so patriotic = too wcw? that's fucking stupid

  • This is funny as hell with all the subplots..........

  • woman (nancy benoit) was married to sullivan love triangle

  • i wonder if kevin sullivan knew that she passed away and if he ever took steroids?.

  • have to say taskmaster's theme is one of the most fucking awesome ever lol. and i don't understand why they needed two refs lol

  • Ever wonder why all of the Benoit/Sullivan matches were brutal fistfights? It's because Benoit was sleeping with Sullivan's then wife, Nancy, who Benoit later married. Benoit was fighting for his life every time he fought Sullivan, basically.

  • @brnleague99 this match is what Edge/Matt Hardy could've been, if those guys didn't suck balls. Benoit in his prime, not to mention both men fighting like a couple of wild animals who've trespassed on each others' territory. These guys were BEASTS. awesome match. Edge/Matt was crap, not to mention WWE's standards really took the piss out of the situation.

  • @brnleague99 Umm yeah that was the storyline WCW came up with. Sad thing is that it actually left the ringand became a real-life event. Whats even worse......if you watch TNA and look at the Jeff Jarret & Kurt Angle fued now is that you'll see that its started like this storyline, then got 10 times worse

  • I never knew the whole background behind them hating each other, just heard their matches together were great so decided to check this out. Shouldn't really make fun coz Benoit was one of the best I've ever seen in the squared circle, but half of those braincells mustve died just off those Toilet door shots from Sullivan lol

  • 4:27 Does Dusty say onslaught instead of onset? LOL I loved this announce team Dusty/Tony/Bobby the brain

  • Bobby Brain wasn't in the booth for this event, unfortunately. He was managing the horsemen in their fight with the NFL players.

  • That's why i wont watch new wrestling until there is another show on monday nights to make Vince push the envelope

  • "There is a lady in the men's bathroom, look at that there is a woman in the men's bathroom." That should be a historical wrestling quote, that is the funniest bit of commentary I have ever heard in wrestling to this day.

  • I thought that same thing man...even when watching this at 6/7 years old that was so fucking funny

  • I had this PPV on tape! What a memory! This match was C-R-A-Z-Y!!

  • chris EMMMMMMMMMWAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • Benoit is known for being an amazing mat technician...when you see matches like this, you really see the diversity of Benoit's in-ring skills (i.e. going from a mat wrestler to a brawler)...just pure amazing.

  • Benoit kicked ass in WCW.

  • I agree. I watched this PPV because I was curious about Hall & Nash, but Benoit made me a WCW fan with this match.

  • Benoit was really allowed to develope as a focused & stone cold bad-ass in WCW.

And while I did enjoy watching WWF(E), one of my complaints bout 'em is how they usually tended to soften any newly-signed wrestlers who were coming in from other organizations with the label as a badass.

    As they did with Benoit.
