The RUC were just doing their job. There is no harming in wanting civil rights but some Republicans and Roman Catholics seem pretty keen on taking away the rights of the Protestant and Unionists communities. They often display gross bigotry and intolerence towards anything romately British or Protestant.

Well the RUC were a sectarian force. Note how they allowed a loyalist mob to attack the civil rights march from Belfast to Derry in 1968. So the RUC were clearly enemies of the Catholic minority.
