Bob was closest with George out of all the Beatles but he always liked/respected the rest of them. I remember when he said something like "there was no better lead singer's than Paul and John."
IN THE 60S Dylan wouldnt give Paul macCartney the time of day.. in fact he walked out of a room back in 65 when Paul was about to show his a song.... now Dylan like a tired old man who wants to to be forgiven .........MACARTNEY would be a jerk to now go and record with dylan.. DYLAN adored John Lennon....' lennon was like'' i dont listern to what you sing about ,but just the way you sing'
@poussyledzep yea and he wrote it with the help of someone else. Dylan wrote the entire Blond on Blonde, Highway 61 Revisited and Blood on the Tracks albums. Dylan ownes mcartney and anyone with any sence knows it!
@poussyledzep and Like a rolling stone was voted the greatest song of all time by rolling stone magazine. I love the Beatles too but Bob wrote better songs in 1963 than the beatles ever did in an entire career.
Hahaha!!the Beatles are btw the greatest songwriters ever!!so think twice before writing anything such" Bob wrote better songs in 1963 than the beatles did in their entire career"because its pretty stupid!!
Revolver album has enough prouving the superiority of the beatles, ask Dylan himself and he will respond you exclely what ive written.
sgt pappers is also the best album of all time as the beatles were voted as the greatest artist of the century.
@poussyledzep Beatles are great for sure but they dont come close to Bob. They were still writing pop rock love songs when bob was writing "The Times They Are a Changin" and The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carrol and Blowin in The Wind. Bob Dylan has about 200 truly great songs and The Beatles have maybe 80.
Times they are changing and blowing in the wind are great songs for sure, but the Beatles revolutionized the genre and dont forget that the beatles' career was very short comparing to dylan's career, otherwise they could write again and again ,imagine and all things must pass are the proof of time and this is why Lennon has been killed not Dylan.
@poussyledzep well I love the Beatles for sure and have seen Ringo and Paul live but take all of Bob's songs from 1963-1970 and compare them to Beatles songs from 1964-1970 and I'm sure you would find more consistent quality in Dylan. Not that I don't love She loves you etc.
@muclesmarinara bobby was 2-3years ahead of the beatles in the "somewhat" more culturally more fertile NY folkie/arts scene when the beatles were giggin in the whore district of Hamburg,& in teeny clubs in Liverpool. Zimmy obviously had the head start. he wrote blowing in the wind while the beatles were writing "just seventeen". he showed the way, deeper lyrics, &that that you could define yourself as a recording artist, composer, moving away from folk. as the Beatles then did, from rockabilly
@poussyledzep booby led the way. they all realized long & brilliant careers, but at the start, in 64' 65 he was further along the way to more poetic, and more deeply philosophical lyrics, and he showed the beatles they could move away from what they'd done earlier and re-define themselves stylistically with his move from folk to electric rock. they'd have done it eventually anyway, but i think his example may have been key to their quickly moving on to the very different Rubber Soul etc.
@poussyledzep John Lennon got shot because some lunatic thought if he killed John Lennon he would become as famous as John Lennon. Dylan started that political style of music that Lennon so heavily adopted even though dylan denied he was a protest singer quite strongly. And when Dylan was done with folk he become very surreal which Lennon also adopted and Mccartney did to an extent as well but he was more inspired by The Beach Boys Pet Sounds album. Sgt Peppers is Pauls version of Pet Sounds
i would absolutely love to see dylan and mccartney mix together. there would be lots of tension in a good way...you know 40 or 50 years of thinking put into it in a way..
Jaysus cool, never heard about that, it was v hard to get any Dylan reference from this video,so that Radiohead, MGMT and now Dylan, McCartney wants to work with.
hahahaha hes the man
