El siglo XIX fue desastroso para España, que perdió su Imperio; pero también para México. Los anglos se aprovecharon de nuestra división, y arrebataron la tierra que era mexicana por derecho propio.

Pero nuestra cultura es fuerte, y permanece a uno y otro lado de la frontera.

Los californios fueron numerosos y en la alta California habia ciudades muy prosperas como San Diego, San francisco y lo que fue originalmente Los Angeles. en esos lugares se opuso una feroz resistencia militar a los invasores Gringos en 1847 y hubo varias victorias ya que adoptaron la tactica de guerrilla y emboscada escondiendose en las montañas y bosques cercanos, pero fue inevitable la derrota final por la falta de apoyo por parte de la capital que como siempre se olvidó del resto del país.

A pesar de que México era un caos político; los californios en México nunca perdieron sus ranchos y su forma de ser jamás fue cuestionada; los que apoyaron la invasión gringa siempre se arrepintieron de haberlo hecho y de dejar de ser mexicanos, ya que les fue muy mal cuando se convirtieron en gringos.

Siempre es agradable ver fotos de la historia de México, y más del México perdido por la invasión y anexión gringa de la mitad del país.

@bago510 I can relate to your story somewhat because my great-great grandfather owned land and a ranch in what was called at the time Rancho Camarillo California now its just camarillo the white folks invaded stole land made there own laws in english that the spainish could understand so my familys ranch was basicly stolen by the white man.His family was one of the thousands of family that came from spain to the new world.I'm a true native Californian not some bleach blond blue eyed surfer bro!

Veras que los Mexicanos o Californios han sido, estan y son, parte integral de EE.UU

Si te refieres a los Ranchos, tambien muchas familias Hispano-Mexicanas conservan los apellidos y las propiedades en California.

Muchos ya hablan en Only English o son Bilingues, todos han estado multiculturizados por generaciones...

todavia hay mexicanos en california, pero la original california esta en mexico que es la baja california ( antigua california) que es donde llegaron los españoles en 1500 y es el bello lugar donde vivo.

Las Californias son un lugar muy extenso, por donde quiera encuentras apellidos, gente, arquitectura, musica y cultura mexicana/hispana; tanto en Baja California hispanohablante, como en Alta California anglohablante, la frontera nos divide politica y economicamente, pero no espiritualmente.

Es Cierto! el Mar de Cortez es uno de los mares mas espectaculares del mundo!

El idioma nos une, por eso en Baja se habla Ingles y en Alta Español; Somos de aquí y de allá; las fronteras son mentales.

Te recomiendo este libro, El Territorio Disputado en la Guerra de 1846-1848

es de Levinn Rojo, Danna A y Ortega Martha.

Basicamente habla de como se formó el mosaico mexico-americano posterior a la anexion a los EUA, verás como hubo regiones donde siguieron manteniendo sus raices mexicanas aunque tuvieron que adaptarse a las nuevas politicas economicas y sociales americanas. Espero y lo puedas hallar y que te sea de mucha ayuda.
