love it! absolutely great. is that the blonde finish? does it look good? i haven't been able to find one around to try out. i'm thinking about getting that with a maple neck. thanks!
You're tone is so sweet, man! It's like a candy apple that someone dropped on the ground, got it dirty, and then covered it with honey. I've got the exact same strat, but I can't coax this kind of sound out of it. Do you think the noiseless pickups are a worthwhile upgrade? Other than the noise elimination, is their a huge difference in sound?
In my opinion, yes. Noiseless are a worthwhile upgrade. They have a slightly different sound but it still sounds like a strat with no evil buzz. It makes recording easier too.
I got mine about two months ago. It is really a great instrument, but I think I will replace the pickups sooner or later. They are good for a rock sound, but I'm looking for a more traditional strat sound. Who produces these "noiseless pickups"? They sound great in your video.
Fender Hot Noiseless are the style in this one. They make some various styles of noiseless from vintage, standard, hot and SC Noiseless (probably others). I didn't think much of the tones out of the HW1 except for neck and the next position down. After the new pickups were installed, I dug it big time :)
Hey,I love your playing, and I'm a lefty as well. Would you consider doing some kind of tutorial on some of these blues licks.I'm struggling with the same ol' same ol' and would appreciate any help you could give. There was a live video you posted with you and your 335-that was some of THE best blues I've heard on youtube to date-look foward to hearing more.
Hi mate, may thanks for the nice comments! most appreciated.
I can put together a few licks in a video it shouldn't be a problem. I try to focus on playing with what I consider soul rather than speed. I'll see what I can do :)
Thanks man, I'm not a speed fan either, that's why I really dig your soulful playing. Are you familiar with Ronnie Earl,I saw him a few years back- there's some soulful blues I think you'd enjoy. Thanks for your reply. Cheers
Hey man, nice playing. Happy Holidays. Is that a Highway One? I'm really considering getting one. Tele most likely. For versatility in recording, and just overall playing how does the ES 335 compare to the Telecaster. I know a Highway One is a hell of alot cheaper! I'm a fellow lefty. Our guitar choices are limited as you know! Cheers
Yep that's a HW1 guitar with the normal headstock. The model after this one went to the 70's big headstock. I put Fender Hot Noiseless pickups in this for something different. ES335 is probably the ultimate blues machine, I would take it any day over a telecaster (which I have one of them as well). 335 can get that tele style cut while having so much more balls. Lemme know how you go :)
arnt the stock pickups pretty good on the highway ones

I didn't like them much. I'm used to noiseless pickups. They lacked fullness in my opinion.

Yep and it wears down fast. The paint on mine is already off in some areas, it's starting to look like a relic. :)
