This sort of misrepresents what happened.

It makes it look like Zucker just recently decided to move the time slots up as a package deal or something. But that was not the case. In 2004 Leno decided to retire in 5 years giving Conan the Tonight Show. Later on, Zucker decided to give Jay a 10:00 PM show. That was never part of the original idea. Jay was supposed to just retire. It's funny, but it misrepresents what really happened. Not great reporting by any standards.

There is a problem with this news story. This switch was not an idea of Jeff Zucker, Jay Leno announced his retirement back in 2004 an stated that Conan would be taking over as host of the Tonight Show in September of 2009. Why has everyone forgot this?

Leno promised Conan the show 5 years ago.

He got it finally but now NBC didn't give Conan even 1year to gain audience (Leno needed 3).

Leno had audience because of movie shown before, now Leno has no movie before so he sucks, Conan has Leno before so has to build audience in time 'cause Leno doesn't help him, they have different age groups and characters as audience.
