@lukellu1 i personally like quakers a litle bit more, they are very sweet when they are raised around ONE person, other people can hold the bird and play with it and everything, but it is better if you are the one taking him out of the cage, you are the one that mainly plays with it and talks to it.if you have any questions, you can inbox me.=)

Watching these videos I've noticed that the African Greys seem to speak in a "normal" type voice while the smaller birds like Quakers and Cockatiels have a different sounding voice - cute and squeeky... The greys are kinda eerie 'cause they sound so much like their owners' human voices.

I don't know how many times Ive seen this little video of Yoshi! He is so cute and I love his little sweet voice!!! When did he start talking? My 10 wks old quaker, Monty, started saying his name a few days ago! Im so proud of him/her!!!! We spend a lot of time with him and talk and sing to him everyday. Quakers are such great little creatures! I love mine!!!

I just lost my quaker parrot....my parrents hit the doors and accidently killed him...I will miss him greatly, he was like my baby. Words can't express how I feel right now. So take care of ur parrots while u have them because I couldn't take care of mine and now hes gone....i wont hear him in the morning he wont kiss me when I wake up...he loved me the most and I wasnt home when this happened. I so wish Quaker's were legal in CA. I wanted one so bad. I bought a Conure and I know they're not talkers, but my bird is still so cute and loving. I love Yoshi and I watch this video when I'm feeling down and need something to make me happy. He's the smartest bird....I've watched most of his videos. :)

Haha, just got home from the aviary breeder's with two blue quakers - they are to cool! We got two from the breeder for the same price as one from the pet store, plus we know exactly what sex they are from DNA testing ( two boys, a boy and a girl would equal babies, and babies equal work!, well more work then we already have!). Also is it just me or is this bird a little bit fat?

@alexyvettea He has a pair of australian parekeets, but he had an african parekeet before that died, and someone gave him those australian parekeets, but he doesnt like them that much, he misses "paquito" his previous perekeet, so my mom and i are thinking of getting him a talking bird, and thats why we thought of the quaker. yours seems too cute :)

@BucketBoysBand It depends how old he is. if he is an older bird then it will be harder to teach him "new" words. if he is young or a baby, make talking a routine like when you walk in the room say hello and when he starts to catch on give him a treat. another one is when you sneeze say "God bless you" or "Bless you, the parrot will catch on and when someone sneezes he will say Bless you it worked with my cousins and it was a quaker too. this will work with many other things

Our Quaker is 10 months old and says "Poor Baby" when we put her to bed and she still wants to play.She says, What ya doin? , Come Here, kissing noises and she pushes her beak on you at the same time, she also makes whispering noises in your ear. If you are chewing gum she makes chewing noises. Very funny.

Try pumpkin seeds and/or dried papaya. Mine goes crazy for those so I usually give them to him as treats if he says a word. Also crisp vegetables like lettuce and celery are favorites.
