How can you leave us Brad? I know you had your own personal demons. But if you had just listened to us, you would still be here. RIP Brad. Damn we miss you.
@MrQuestionAuthority Sometimes you can be surrounded by many adoring, loving, caring people and be the loneliest soul on earth. So sad. I'm a happy go lucky person who wound up with a major depressive episode out of the blue. I'm sure many of you have been there too. You're just an empty shell w/ no feelings at all. RIP, Brad. :'(
I've no doubt Brad belongs on the short list of the capable, talented singers of rock in the last say 45 years. He's got that unique tone, the range, power and of course style that qualify a singer to be on such a list along with guys like s.perry,s.haggar,etc..When such singers hook up with great writing, and guitarists such as Sholtz,Vanhalen,Shon, naturally you wind up with these hit making, iconic bands like we see here. For me the results are sometimes to good to even believe.Freakin magic!
Tom Scholz, because of his engineering brilliance, designed the sound of Boston and most of the bands therafter. He invented the devices that distort, control, and modify the sound of the guitar. He holds a masters degree from MIT and was a designer for Polaroid before he entered music stardom. His first soundtrack that was sold to a recording studio was produced almost entirely by Tom. That record became the biggest selling album of all time.
Fack nowdays liveing , that was a time , 80' th ! Time of friedship, lowe , romance , You could know , gonna belong to someone ! Now , noone care about nothing , just money , interest !
This nice rock - blues ballad , remind me on that time , when was a joy to live on !
tom scholz gift as a guitarist's was over shadowed by his degree he aerned at M I T also as a product designer for the polaroid camera company, along with being the inventer of the "WALKMAN' ALONG WITH BEING ON THE ENGINEERING BOARD THAT INVENTED THE COMPACT DISC,his guitar playing wasn't highly reguarded due to the fact that he himself was using special effect boards and pedal's that were unavailable to the public, such as his scholz box that is now available!!!!!
@ledheadbobh i think you mean "The Rockman" , the walkman was developed by a small company called "SONY".. i agree w/ you Tom gets little glory as a guitarist which he clearly enjoys, he is a general all around great musician, player (keys & gtr) and what a writer..the man is extremely gifted and takes a lot of shit espec since the death of his dear friend Brad.
I'm a 47 year old man. I can remember sitting around the pool with buddies in high school talking about how we are going to get lucky or high that weekend. Every time I hear Boston I still can see myself when i was 16. I still shed a tear when i think what happened to the voice that made me fell young all over again. RIP Brad I hope you sing for the angels. ----Glenn
Just like steve perry with journey brad delp cannot be replaced either for boston..was listening to some 2008 boston and NOPE they cacan't lace Brads voice...
Amanda - Oh, where did the years go! A wonderful era where we dated and listened to Amanda many many times. Romance was on top of the list. Brad made life larger with Amanda. it must never be forgotten. Amanda gave us hope and without hatred or anger. Amanda showed us to be simple; to listen and to know you are loved! Thanks Brad. You will always be remembered! Boston!
No one compares to Freddie Mercury - sorry jkoruty! Delp was ok, range was decent. He couldn't sing with the clarity of an album live though, Freddie was great no matter what.
Boston's music defined a generation. In 1976 I just got my license and I'd have their music blasting from stereo of my '71 Mach1 with my sweet girl sitting next to me cruisin' fast to nowhere! Thirty-four years later, I lose myself in that familar song.......Thanks for the music. Thanks for the memories. RIP Brad.
i think a lot of people beat freddie the fag. steve perry, gregg allman, even eric clapton. freddies like celine dion, she can hit a lot of notes, but none i want to hear- like alvin and the chipmunks.
@hardknox503 Yep - I love Tom. And Brad is sorely missed, such a great voice, such a shame, but what an awesome amount of music he left us. RIP Brad, indeed.
@hardknox503 You are nuts, Tom Scholz blows. Listen to him come in all out of time. Barry Goudreau was the good guitarist in Boston. That's why 3rd stage was so lame...

Deny his musical genius..Seriously try it...
Better yet go after his charitable contributions..

But I found that in my friends.

Indeed RIP Brad. Incredible sound.
However, having read the earlier posts I must say that all those people dumping on Freddie Mercury ought to pull their heads in.

A lot of people automatically think Freddie Mercury when talking about the best rock vocalist. I think Brad had an argument here.
