    Das ist ein "Elektro-Kolbenmotor". Anstatt Kolben und Zylinder hat die Maschine Eisenstifte und Magnetspulen. Jeder Zylinder ist eine Spule, die entsprechend der Stellung des Kolbens den Stift noch oben oder unter drückt. Die Stromrichtung wird durch einen Kommutator (das kleine Rad am linken Ende der Welle) eingestellt/getauscht.
