@1Sifting I would not think that to be the case, whats the ile extention? .jpg works great, not sure about .png files. That might be the reason.

I just installed an update from Sony link. It worked fine until recharge time. The player will not turn on. We (Sony an I) tried all trouble shoot and nothing. Sony advised to get it checked - nahhh. Charge for repairs is any from 70 and up. Warranty does not cover (this) damage. Still disputing, will post outcome later on. Had mine for two yrs w/o issues until update on Dec 8, 2011.

PokerJoker3, I have a question. When you start playing a song and you have the volume all the way up, does the song sound low at the beginning and goes loud for the rest of the remaining time of that song for sony walkman? I have a trio touch screen mp3 player and everytime i play a song in there, the sound is really low and it gets loud for the rest of the time, and i have the volume all the way up, obviously. But, when you have an answer for this question, please reply back to me. Thank you

@mkttygrl - I have one as well. No, the volume sound starts at the setting you have. Advise: Trim your songs before transferring. It saves space.

@1misanthropist - No, it has to be Sony provided USB. I trid universal usb and they only work short term.

i wasted money on a zune. im with u on the "sort by folder" option. for example: i hate sorting music by artist because not all the songs u get have the artist name in the "properties" (for some reason having the artist in the file's name doesnt count).

@ToastOfDOOMM Sure. On you're hard drive, create the folder, call it say Beatles, then dump all your mp3 songs into it. Hook up your walkman and jut copy and paste the whole folder to the music section in the player.

Nice vid! Can you tell me about these features (I'm tempted to return the thing before I open it):

1) although Sony sites and packaging say it supposed mpeg4, all the user reviews I've read say it doesn't.

2) I understand that you can't move files around on the device? My concern there is: I've read that you can't really transfer a single song file from the computer and put it right into the playlist you want...you can only transfer playlists?

@lindasko you can transfer songs from your computer to your sony walkman by using windows media player. You can drag and drop files to transfer songs.

you have to use their software and convert it to play. Pain in the ass for sure. I since have been using the Sanza Fuze. Much better to use and has all the features AND a expandable memory slot for SD cards, up to 16 GB. They also have to convert video to play, but there is a 3rd party software called "video4fuze" that converts any video in a snap!

@Joongielove12 you can add videos by converting your music video into the wmv format by using the youtube downloader then you can drag and drop the converted file into your sync list

I haven't had such issues with bad sound quality, much depends on the clips bit rate and all I know. I also have a Ipod classic and a sansa Fuze...all sound the smae to me.

hi is the battery life really that great like sony claims? (42 hrs playback through headphones) and is it really a good switch from ipod nano 4th gen because i hate the battery life on my ipod and is the sound really that much greater
