Oh and one more thing i forgot to mention is that... Do you know why USAF is retiring their old fleet of F-14s? Currently the F-14 is the only fighter USAF has in possetion that have long range capabilities with its AIM-54 phoenix extra long range missile. Its because phoenix as a missile could be easily outmaneuvered by any fighter, as most of the world missiles of its class. Thats why USAF is getting rid of F-14. These missiles were designed to counter strategic bombers not fighters!

Flankymanga, you are so wrong! First of all the F-14 was NEVER used by the USAF it was a US Navy aircraft for US Carriers. They retired the F-14 because it was far too expensive when compared to the F-18. And, the F-14 WAS designed to fight fighters... It was a Navy "Interceptor with Air Superiority features" that was born from the same F/X project that the F-15 and F-16 were developed.

Mig and Flanker derivatives are much better resolved aerodinamically and have lots less drag during manuvering. Tis electronics are better integrated together and is built on a tried and tested platform. In gun combat, the F22 will be severely outclassed by both Mig29OVT and SU37. that sair i know su 37 can fire an R-73 Archer missile backwards and so can mig. migs manuvers are off the scale in any competition. russians used stealth paint and the plane lost 92% of its detectability. MiG/Su RULE!

F22 is designed to be able to defeat Su-27. it has its own merits. Ability to carry weapons internally helps it lose a lot of drag that normal combat suspensions introduce. He has very sofisticated electronics suite. How well all the tech is integrated together. LYNX29 sorry mate but F22 moves its nozzles up and down (vertical) and not horizontal (left-right)which only controlls the pitch and a little roll. Aerodinamically F22 shape is far from optimal with lots of stright lines and edges.

Su-27 is old and will not be produces any more cos it's OLD! Su-35 and Mig-35 are new ones! So, F-22 being still tested (yes, it is in AirForces now, but it is IN beacasue they will keep it in any result cos too much tax dollars are spend) is already 1 step back compare to new Mig's and Su' which we sell to India! :D

Yeah they can. People don't really understand stealth. Stealth doesn't make it 100% invisible to radar. Radars work by sending out radio waves, which bounce off object and return to the receiver, marking where an object is. The F-117 is designed to bounce radio waves in awkward directions so the chance of a direct return to radar is much lower. That is stealth. It gives the pilot enough time to get what needs to be done, and get out.

It can reverse direction almost in place- US planes can do that only in CGI animations. No othe plane has such a small turning radius.
