@GuitarViols, that is freaking awesome.. This has to be one of the coolest instruments I've ever seen. If you ever feel giving one away, I'm your man =]
@RyanPhipps08 Yes. I made a custom modified Kyser to address the curvature of FB. (Too bad I do not have a YouTube of it, one of my clients comandeered it! LOL)
PS, this is a dated vid. Please check out some of my current work :)
One of the most beautiful instruments both to the eye and ear... If only I had 4000 to spend. I'm probably going to save up for one in the future though, but damn... is that still a goal.
Very excited to learn to play this thing. I got to experiment with Jonathan's personal guitarViol last December and while it's new and different, I concluded that it's do-able. Jonathan has been great fun to work with, professional, friendly and always innovating. Thanks, Jon.
Can't wait to see this demo'd at the Newport Guitar Festival in Miami Beach at the Miami Beach Convention Center, April 11-13th ,2008. THis is goin to be the most awesome festival with over 90 luthiers--but only one guy who makes these things. Wow! I want one of these.

Are the top and back of this model flat? I swear they look flat. How does the sound compare with your models that have carved tops and backs?

what kind of strings are on there? When plucked, they sound like nylons

Flatwound D'Addario Chromes, the lower six of a seven string set. Dave had since re-strung it with Viola Da Gamba strings.
