  • Wow. It must've taken a lot of research to find all those clips of Billy Corgan looking like he was actually having fun!

  • aweesssommeee song

  • it sounds like it belongs on Siamese Dream :)

  • The last Smashing Pumpkins song, right here. They never quite got this sort of sound back.

  • fukin sick sick sick solo at the end. come on someone on you tube try and play it!

  • stop hatin on sexy billy

  • The missing link between "old" Pumpkins and Zwan.

  • Love Billy's sick ass rifage towards the end bring on the New album

  • d'arcy still the best

  • great song and really good video)))

I like Darcy with the haircut

  • But the real question is, what is SMASHING PUMPKINS? I think it's a band that can support the musical vision of Billy Corgan. James, D'arcy and Jimmy had their time, and they chose not to return to it. The new members are doing a fantastic job, and while the band has a slightly different vibe the music is just as complex and good. Jeff and Billy have a really amazing dynamic too, more so than James and Billy did, I feel.

  • Love to see the 'real' Pumpkins reunite and record something that feels like the original stuff. I don't think Billy's new stuff is crap but I miss the grunge feel. I love Soundgarden as well but scared of their next release, hoping they maintain the feel of who they were too. Alice in Chains did a "decent" job but it was very Cantrell.

  • Awesome video!

  • This song is absolute greatness!

  • Type PRIZE before youtube and hit enter

  • Thing you can never unhear with this song: Billy taking in a breath and the end of the song.

  • very good

  • 7 fucking idiots.

  • 779 f. u.

    lol.

    idiot.

  • I love Smashing Pumpkins they start out as Dream Rock with Gish, change to Grunge Siamese Dreams and Melancholy And The Infinite Sadness, then to techno rock with Adore , then to heavy metal Machina, then to rock&roll Zeitgeist, and now Dream Rock with Tear Garden. What Next Billy Corgan? what work of art will your beautiful mind come up with?

  • @nicholsjoshua15 I really don't think Gish and Teargarden are the same genre lol

  • 3:10> il pezzo di chitarra fino alla fine mi fa letteralmente GODERE!!!!!!!!!!

    cazzo è fantastico!!! in loop!

  • @mattafakkasd Verissimo!!!

  • This song and their first record are the only music they ever recorded that's worth a shit.

  • @rcmayo lol, whatever dude

  • this song is just so...perfect. it's a great example of the band's overall sound. kinda shoe-gazy...kinda psychedelic. just exuberant shimmery music to think to and dance to. songs don't get better than this. i love how people often complain how billy changed too much from the band's early days...so he whipped out this song as if to say "see...i still got it." this sounds like it could have been the lead single off Gish. it's that good and that timeless.

  • This song should be called belive

  • Damn this is Brilliant, Top band of the 90's no question!

  • :< listen to this song and then to 'widow wake my mind'.....

i dont know if it makes me sad or angry!

  • @kamikatsaa Listen to Bullet With Butterfly Wings and then listen to As Rome Burns and you will be happy with the way they sound alike. Billy ain't no where near washed up yet in fact I think aside from a few bad songs Teargarden By Kaleidescope is shaping up rather nicely. Try: 99 Floors, The Rose March, As Rome Burns, Owata, Pox, Again Again Again, My Love Is Winter, Tom Tom, The Fellowship, Lonely Is The Name, and Song For A Son.

  • Maybe their best song !

  • Temazo !

  • If I could go back in time, I would. Definetley. Good times, good times....

  • wow were has rock gone. this is real music not the justin beiber shit

  • @wonkerjk Amen man, music is so saturated! The Pumpkins were and are the real deal

  • Probably the most underrated song they've ever done.

    The solo is insane

  • to slay the things that trouble you!

    feel love all around!

  • and now billy corgans running around with jessica simpson

  • LMAO.

Even he agrees they really went downhill well he actually thinks rock "in general" went downhill and well to be honest he is right.

  • apparently Corgans intelligence turns Simpson on.

  • and now jessica simpson running around billy corgan. better

  • perfect

  • Temazo.

  • I wish they could all get together and produce an album as good as Gish again. Psychedelic rock is their thing and no one did it better.

  • James did the bass on this one despite Billy's footage with a bass as shown on the Greatest Hits DVD. Obviously there's no way of knowing how much D'arcy did on Machina, but we'll never know since Billy claimed at the time that'd done her part before she left. James was always known for his atmospheric stuff and he supplied that here too...you Billy worshippers always seem to discount this fact. Billy has said that James always brought songs to a higher level, same can be said here.

  • rover hendrix everybody, rover hendrix...

  • there is a possibility that on Machina there can be parts written by D'Arcy, but I think Billy recorded all the bass. Maybe, some Machina demos, but I'm not sure either about them. The safest chose would be Adore. In the live case, look for bootlegs from 1999 tour, Mellissa filled for couple of last shows,so most of the recordings from that year feature D'Arcy

  • @misterdanger774 d'arcy was away for more than a year when this song was recorded. james did only the bridges.

this song is 90% only jimmy and billy

  • @friendsandenemiesofu

Billy and Jimmy ARE the smashing pumpkins. In fact, it's mostly Billy. It's ALWAYS been. He's a control freak, and I love him for it.

  • The pumpkins have an obscene amount of songs

  • yes, some are godly, some are meh

  • sounds like "rotten shame" by the meat puppets

  • Good old Pumpkins. Wish they would come together again, but.....

  • lulz

  • @OfaceNB me too :/ but i couldnt stand D'arcy giving billy a dirty look from across the stage, jimmy looking like he's bored, or james looking like he wants the show to end already so he can leave... it'd kill me

  • @techy75 Jimmy Still likes billy not long ago I saw them on TV talking about the pumpkins and what not. Jimmy just wanted to make music that sucks "The Jimmy Chamberlin Complex" is crap

  • @OfaceNB

    nothing lasts forever.

everything is fleeting....especially the really good stuff.

  • Yeah but D'arcy's gone when this song came out Correct?? think its Melissa in bass..

  • D'arcy was gone so Billy played bass for this song, I believe.

  • LBlsurf90 is correct, Billy did play bass. D'arcy had left just and Melissa was not present during this recording session

  • one of my fav sp's song

  • Is Untitled the actual name of the song?

  • yes. they released this song right before they broke up. billy said they kinda went back to an old pumpkins kinda sound for it just as a little "F!@k you" to the people who thought they couldn't do it anymore.

  • wat a cool video

  • why does this song sound familiar?

  • That is weird, the start does sound very similar to something, I was thinkin it was an old Britpop song, thought it was Cast but not sure? I'm not sayin that as an insult by the way!

  • "n old Britpop song" yeah thats what i was thinking aswell!

  • The beginnig is like Misunderstood by Bon Jovi oO'

  • I see you removed that comment of the guy who replied to me. Thanks, he was being a complete idiot...

  • Fav. song by them... :]

  • Don't really like this one.

My favorite is Try,Try,Try, and that one's quite different. Guess this one's just not my style.

  • Comment removed

  • Zwan was far better than what SP2 performs today

  • What I'm getting at is that I think the Zwan sound was the next logical step for Billy. When I hear this song, I hear that same muse. Am I alone in thinking this?

  • nope. I was thinking the same thing too. Too bad Billy won't release the album from Zwan again since he apparantly had a bad relationship with some of the other band members. Can someone explain that to me please? BTW did you hear bout D'arcy talking on a Chicago radio show.

  • Comment removed

  • billy is the pumpkins, but so were james, darcy and jimmy as well

  • @nalimca agreed. I mean, in my opinion, billy by himself right now is good, but with original memebers, they were great.

  • hey for those of you ranting about the new pumpkins should know that the SP were billy the whole time, he recorded the bass parts to, so what if he made a new band with new mmebers and still calls it SP, james and darcy weren't true pumpkins anyway

  • but it's about people, not who wrote and recorded most of parts... I like new SP's members but James and Darcy were sui generis, and I love Darcy, she was dreamlike...

  • the point is that the smashing pumpkins as we knew them are dead. now all the pumpkins are is another name for billy's lame ass side projects

  • I think this song is good. I know it was their "true" last song all together, but that shouldn't be a reason to call it shit.

  • im not saying its shit. hell this is one of my all time favorate pumpkins songs. its deffenatly up their with Hummer and Why am i So Tired

  • me estoy convirtiendo muy adictivo a the smashing pumpkins

  • guitartod= noob !

  • console noobs

  • ooo relevant and timely references.

  • cause the pumpkins were my favorate band while alot of you were still in diapers

  • lol to the ppl who didnt like what i said about the "new" pumpkins are obviously new fans of the band and have no idea how great they truley were. and that they are just a pale sickly version of their former greatness. i stand by what i said. there is no more smashing pumpkins, they broke up in 2000 and now theres this new inferior band thats mascarading around as the smashing pumpkins

  • i agree, but corgans got some talent i doubt zeitgeist was taken very seriously. just thinking about how incredible they were back still gives me some hope

  • how about you give the band a chance you douche lol. the pumpkins are the pumpkins sry if the band is evolving its music. go listen to the greatest hits cd and jag off to it. the only sad thing right now about the pumpkins is that jimmy left. there still great and could do without fans like you.

  • anyone one who is a smashing pumpkins fan without james iha, darcy wretchsky and jimmy chammberland in the band is a fakeboy, a poser, has no taste in music, and is tone deaf

  • shut up you dont know what you saying

  • Yeah its true. Still for people like me, who only got really into sp since their breakup..

well, if nothing else if was awesome to see them play live, even if the substitute isnt quite the same.

  • Well to everybody here, lets just enjoy what greatness the original Smashing Pumpkins have brought into our lives with their songs that helped us in our time of need.

  • Such a badass song. This easily could have been a hit single and gotten all kinds of radio play. Makes you wonder why it ended up a bonus track on their greatest hits album. It may be the best song on that album lol

  • i dont know why you got so many thumbs downs. THERE IS NO SMASHING PUMPKINS and anyone who doesnt understand that is clearly daft or retarded or something. the smashing pumpkins = james darcy jimmy and billy. i was against billy calling just him and jimmy SP, but to carry on the name by himself is a fucking joke and a money grub. all it says to me is that billy thought his solo album would sell better if it said smashing pumpkins on it, and now thats what he's doing, masquerading as the SP

  • Thats a very negetive point of view and any fucken money he or they make they deserve its not like instantly albums fly of the shelves just cause its the smashing pumpkins label on it plus zeitgeist is awesome and the pure genuies that is gossamer!!!! fuck dick you have no fucken clue what your talking about, release an album then you can open your motherfucking mouth!

  • you dont understand.

but thats okay, cause you also proved your ignorance by ranting and raving like a lunatic. i have released a couple albums, so go fuck off.

  • sure you have and I'm the pope! Okey tell me then what i dont understand, and by the way if you have released music dont be shy to tell a fellow musician, ow wait your just talking bullshit no worries if you check my profile you'll find that i actually have so put your money where your mouth is otherwise go count the clouds.

  • thats my point exactly when i say you dont understand. what difference does it make whether i've released music? which i have, but thats irrelevant. i'm criticizing billy corgan for using the name of a band which to most of its fans refers to 4 specific people. its fine if you dont agree with me, but theres plenty SP fans that hate billy for what he's doing, and i'm one. i won't support them, and you can continue to if you want. but lets stick to the point shall we? i dont care about your music

  • Sure using a band name where he is the only remaining band member i get it but then again the band hasn't been intact since the adore era, its like so what he writes all the material anyway plus your living in the past i would also love it if the four off them where together but thats just life its a bitch i mean check at what sort of dick james iha has changed into and thats the point change get use to it. God Bless

  • well now that we've gotten past the bullshit, you have a point. i always just kinda assumed that billy was the dick, judging from how he constantly slams james and darcy in public, but who knows. and to be honest, who cares really, as long as they're making good music. and my point is that i dont like the direction he's taking is all.

imagine if roger waters had called himself pink floyd after kicking everyone out of the band, it wouldve been madness. he didnt, but thats what i see billy doing

  • Brilliant Pink Floyd analagy i never thought of it that way, but again billy writes the music no one else so in a way he started tsp and i guess in some way its his right to finish it , plus he owns 99% of the copyrights for the songs so no 1 can really say no to him playing anything from the past. but thats life its really wierd and fucked up some times.

  • reminds me of the good old days with the original pumpkins

  • will love this song till the END OF TIME

  • the Smashing Pumpkins

  • holy crap never heard this song before...can't believe it wasn't released...i agree, if this was released on zeigeist wouldve been sooo much better

  • imagine if this had been the lead single from zeitgeist? assuming it hadn't been released before of course... can you imagine the pure joy SP fans would have felt? its definitely one of their best.

  • this song makes me sad, cos its the last one that i associate with the original 4 piece. I'm not even sure that was the case, but that's what it marks for me.

  • how awesome is that guitar solo at the end? damn...

  • its wicked sick bro!

  • This is a great song that fits the original run of the band. It's just a shame that D'arcy had to go down a slippery slope towards the end with drugs in all. I don't blame James for leaving the band cuz it would be hard to make music with someone you dont get along with anymore plus Billy was always a control freak despite all his musical genius. James, you are freakin awesome.

  • 4 ever and ever. thank you

  • Great song, great band. Win.

  • I agree with Dan.... for sure

  • everytime I listen to this song it makes me wanna cry, but not like the sad kind of cry, but more like the hopefull new beginings kind of cry, idk when I hear this song it just reminds me of all my old friends from middle school, this song just gives me a weird sad hopefull feeling, truly something only The Smashing Pumpkins can so with their music!

  • When i listen to it, especially the chorus, it reminds me of the summer (As well as Tonigt, Tonight, Perfect, etc.), and all the good times. Perhaps the Pumpkins wanted to have this effect oon people to show that summer's coming, and enjoy your life; things will briighten.

In the end, it's one of the best songs the Pumpkins have ever played :D

  • Even though it came after the Pumpkins' classic era, this has to be one of my favourite songs by them.

The new band is ok like, but without James and D'Arcy it just isn't the Smashing Pumpkins.

  • i agree with you, its like the "Smashing" taken out of the Pumpkins

  • I agree-James & D'arcy were the heart and soul of the Pumpkins.

  • i disagree. While the Smashing Pumpkins no longer exists without Darcy and Iha, the core of this band(Corgan and Chamberlain) remained intact, and that's all that matters in the long run.

  • I suppose you have a point, Corgan and Chamberlain's chemistry has always been apparent and kept the music together, its just when I saw them a few years back with the new line up the passion didn't seem to be there.

  • Man,I miss the original Smashing Pumpkins,

tnhe new band is great, but it's just not the same without James and Darcy....

  • oh i miss james and darcy, are you joking? how old are you?

  • Come on! You got to admit that the Pumpkins used to be better back when James and D'arcy where around! Even though they where a bunch of low life drugies. They where jerks.

  • Hey, neither were low lifes, and James was no druggie. D'Arcy had her incidences, but noones perfect. Bands can't stay relevant forever, we just have to appreciate what they were to us when they were.

  • actually they where both druggies, but like you said, no ones perfect. doesn't mean they where bad people. Billy just got fed up with them. and he does have quitte a temper (billy)

  • no, james was clean for the most part. and billy, more than his temper, was a control freak.

  • lol, why does there have to be a bald guy in almost every band?

  • where can i get this song? i want it badly

  • its on rotten apples, their greatest hits album

  • If you have their video collection, this clip is a hidden Easter Egg

  • Plain happiness, just happiness...that's what I feel everytime I listen to this band

  • Look how cute Billy is! lol His voice amazing,I love the Smashing Pumpkins.

  • I miss the old pumpkins. I was a huge fan of Smashing Pumpkins. I had high hope for their new album and was very disappointed. This song sounds like it was during the siamese era of the pumpkins.

  • i want this song played at my funeral. lol.

  • WTF?! Stop comparing bands and just enjoy their music!

  • Wow, this song is rly the last song from the oringal S.P. Damn i found this song like last year and didnt know its rly the name of the song lol.

  • Buildup to that guitar outro is nothing short of epic. Thanks for posting this!

  • this song and video are great. a great ending for a great band. so touching....

  • Haha, yeah it would've been. I'm glad they're back though. I don't wanna grow up without the chance to see them live.

  • Does anyone know what show is it when Darcy seems Marilyn Monroe?

  • I also believe that Siamese Dream would have been completely different if Nevermind Had not came out. don't know if worse or better, just different. Actually, I remember hearing Corgan saying that he felt like if he had a huge responsability when he had to go into the studio to record Siamase.. Due to the fact that at the time there were many successful and well done records in the "alternative" scene, I think that he must have thought about some grunge records, maybe even nevermind...

  • smashing pumpkins wrote ten minute songs? ... this ones only 3 haha ... but ya they kinda did lol =]

  • haha dude, look up Pastichio Medley, its 23 minutes long.

  • should have left it at this

  • Definitely.

  • countless memories

  • But this video is like on the Greatest Hits dvd, right?

  • no, a different video for this song is on it

  • holly shit, first time i see this... man, i love SP !!!

  • This not just music, it's a piece of art! SP rock....

  • When is this song from?

  • The song is from 2001 and appeared on their Greatest Hits

  • good song they should have gave it a title

  • what the hell are you talking about? nirvana onluy brought to pumpkins negative effects, in a mainstrem sense

  • Thats bullshit. Bill Corgan had as much talent if not more than kurt cobain. Pumpkins would of broken through regardless of Nirvana.

  • I never said that Corgan was untalented... all I said was that the cultural breakthrough of Nevermind allowed the Pumpkins to break into the mainstream. I have no doubt that Siamese Dream would still have been made, although it's unlikely that it would have enjoyed the level of commercial success it did without the previous breakthrough.

  • Your a dumbfuck, Gish was released in 1988, Nevermind 1991.

  • Umm...I hope you're kidding. Gish came out in 1991.

  • i support your statement

  • ????????????????????????

Gish was the first album by smashing pumpkins, and it was released before nevermind.

  • hahah gish was released in 91. the pumpkins formed in 88

  • actually the two band were peers. one did not really influence the other. nirvana wrote AMAZING punk inspired 3 minute songs(mostly) and pumpkins wrote AMAZING 10 minute rock songs with guitar solos and texture. both are great, but they could totally exist without the other.

  • Sorry I didn't make myself very clear. I wasn't implying that they could not exist without each other, I was just stating that Siamese Dream would most likely not have been as commercially successful had it not been for Nevermind. Two great bands, two great albums, just my opinion!

  • I think it would have been just as successful. Nevermind was completely seperate. Everyones always fawning over Nirvana liek they're some sort of godlike band. It was all pop structured songs with powerchords. In a creative-musical sense they were terrible.

  • Maybe it would have been, but to speak of alternative rock without mentioning Nirvana is like speaking of punk without mentioning the Sex Pistols. True, Kurt Cobain played simple chords and for the most part wrote simple songs, but they combined the traditional pop structures with the over tones of the '80s underground... considering their impact on the music industry, I think it's fair to say they gave back at LEAST as much as they took. How about we agree that this argument is going nowhere?

  • I disagree.

  • I mean i disagree in a statement way down below, forgot to quote it hehehe.

  • i think billy corgan is under rated as a guitarist, hes guitar style is amazing
