Another solution I have to this conflict is to create a dual state called Israel-Palestine, just like there used to be Austria-Hungary. A Palestinian and Israeli would rule jointly and both sets of citizens would have the same rights, etc.

But how? I mean, an Israeli leader and a Palestinian one would share equal power in governing Israel-Palestine, and if they can't come to an agreement on something, an impartial member of the U.N. (preferably China, Japan oreven Brazil) would decide for them.
There would be a new flag showcasing the Star of David AND the Crescent Moon: symbolizing unity. The anthem would also be rewritten.
ALL citizens would have equal rights (no Sharia however) and good homes, food, education, etc
