It's a nice touch that Bats turns into a harp-playing angel after he dies. That's a really old cartoon convention and it fits in perfectly with the Joker's mad design.
@Hanna71617 because the animators of this show draw everyone what they looked like in the 1940's comics, and harley looks like she looked like in the old comics
@Edmino14 If you say you seen Batman the animated series then you should know that not Harley orginal look,The show is self is too childish,and the joker seems to goofy and not the insanse we know.I know what you thinking "It still a cartoon TV show and not every Batman show have to be like BTAS" but that so show was so good and it really help bring out the character exactly like in the comic book.
@tylerdw100 are you a fucking retard? i have no problem with the occasional spelling error or missing word, and the common excitement where you jump ahead of yourself and mix your sentence up but you are like typing with the mental capacity of a barely literate child.
@tylerdw100 it certainly is your business if you want to sound like a moron in our minds, but the fact is i only understand you if i decipher the dipshit to english with the help of my retarded cousin from alabama. his parents are only second cousins. so are your parents first cousins or brother and sister?
I didn't watch the show, but from what I can see this is based off this story arc in the comics that happened called Emperor Joker. In Emperor Joker, Joker gets some ridiculous reality-altering powers and kills Batman, revives him, kills him again every day eventually causing mental trauma. Superman eventually comes to the rescue and erases Batman's memory of the events so he snaps out of the trauma. Google it.
Dam cartoons mess up with the comics.............. One of the ways they defeated Joker is because they knew he wouldn't kill or wipe Batman out of existence
@irishskate Actually he did really do this in the comics since he has the power to bring him back as many times as he wants. He will only kill Batman if it doesn't permanently get rid of him.
Let's get something straight; Jeff Bennett, the Joker voice here is a very talented person. He played Johnny Bravo, voices in Ren and Stimpy, Freakazoid, Pinky and the Brain, Baldur's Gate, Camp Lazlo, Chowder, Regular Show, Young Jsutice, Aladin....and so much more.
His casting was clearly to capture that kooky joker from the older comics/show.
I'm surprised no-one is bothered by the character design of this joker, I know early on in the comics he looked similar to this but he just looks awful.
Look, guys. I know why you don't like this voice for the Joker; I understand why, it's not a joker voice. But the guys a friggin' cartoon veteran: he's been in shows like Dexter's Lab, The Powerpuff girls, tons of CN's best. I just can't hate the guy, even if he isn't the best voice for Joker.
I can't hate the Brave and the Bold. They went through shitloads of awesome territory. Emperor Joker, Sherlock Holmes, I think they had a little Damian Wayne in there too.
I think that they did a good job with the jokers logic in this show, but its too cartoony. If this was in the dark knight movies it would shed a little more light on some things... just keep out the irrationality
1:22 Batman goes to heaven? i always thought he'd go to hell for being, you know, actually quite a bad person despite being on the good guys' side... :D
@GortosXtreme Granted, the fact that Batman exists in the same universe as aliens, amazons, green lanterns, a speed force, the anti-life equation, and the reality that death is a mild annoyance that only lasts for about a year, pretty much proves that there is no god in the DC universe.
this is why joker rocks eveyone knows he could win if he kinda tooked things a bit more SERIOUSLY lol but we love his joking toonish side. espcily in a cartoon?
*hugs batmite* is ok, sugah...Mr. J is just...just having some fun..some horrible brain scaring fun!
I personally detest this Joker, the voice is wrong...among other things...They tried to bring back the silver age an only managed this twisted tarnished about as funny as a dead fish on dead grass funny assault on all things Joker, Batman, and heck why not, all things adorkably campy. Batman camp died with Cesar Julio Romero, Jr (God rest his mustashioed soul) and it needs to stay that way.
@PhyscoZombieChickie personally, i don't consider it "campy." it's just slightly less dark, like the batman comics from the '40s and '50s era. and this series is true to the comics and i enjoy this series a lot! for me, it's up there with "batman the animated series" and "the new batman adventures!" i wish that the new batman series coming in 2013, "beware the batman", would begin at the start of batman's career, rather than taking place after this series! i hope they get kevin conroy!
@irishdate- Two things. It's only early on that Joker doesn't wanna kill him. Too much "fun" to be had first. As it wears on, not only does he wanna off Batman, he won't let anyone else come close if he can help it. In this, he can bring him back ad nauseam (or nausea as it seems for Bat-mite and Harley ) so he delights in evening up the win-loss ratio.
@irishskate He only killed him because he knew he could revive him. What better way to toture a man both physcially and mentally than to make him go through death countless of times, only to keep being revived for that purpose? The only other villian that I can possibly think of to be that dark is Darkseid himself, and he's pretty much the god of evil. So before people decide to like your comment, know that indeed this is what the Joker would have done to his all-time archenemy, the Batman.
@irishskate Indeed, though in this case the Joker can just respawn him and do the whole thing over. And what better way to drive Batman to lunacy, to prove that even the strongest will can be broken, than to kill him over and over and over for all eternity.
In this case, the rules just changed so that death wouldn't stop the fun.
That's because death WAS permanent. So kill Batman? No more fun because he doesn't come back. But what if you can REVIVE him too? Endless killing fun with one person.
@OvalEnd15 Brave and The Bold tries to emulate the early years of Batman, colorful and abstract, right? I think the voice fits this Joker swimmingly. I don't think Mark Hamill would fit an early, strange funnier Joker. I love Mark's Joker, but they're two different Jokers, if that makes sense.
I don't mind other voice actors trying to do the Joker voice beside Mark Hamill, as I liked the voice actor for the Joker in Under the Red Hood - but this voice actor here is simply just awful.
@kurvos He's parodying Cesar Romaro from the Adam West series partially, as well as the one from the Superfriends (same basic character design as well). The actor you're looking for in Under the Red Hood is John DiMaggio (Bender, Jake the Dog, etc.).
@10Reapaer01 I am not "looking for him" - I can check IMDB if I care enough, thank you very much. And those series are awful. There should be no reason to parody or pay homage to that in a entire series. The animated series already did it in one episode called "Tales of the Dark Knight". There was no point in doing a new shitty series like this one to show the ridiculous side of Batman once again - it should just stay in the past... permanently.
@kurvos Because a man that wears tights and dresses like a giant bat to fight crime with prepubescent boys is such a serious concept. You seem to be quite mad, so I'll just not debate or argue with your randomly swearing and pretentious self.
@10Reapaer01 Randomly swearing? I haven't even cursed, dude. :P Oh, "shitty" is swearing for you? Kay... that wasn't random, really. And sure - the concept of Batman is silly. That's why it's admirable how they tend to be able to make us take it serious. Sure, the Nolan movies tries too hard, but still. And I am not angry; just tired of fans of this show.
Well know we know that in some unknown fucked up alternate universe joker actually won and more then once too i guess they're pretty even but even though it's a cartoon and all it's still kinda fucked up how they could show batman dying so many times they like ridicule one of the greatest superhero's of our time but i guess it's just in a kids cartoon reality so i dont really care
@AllAboutTheInternet That's just it though, it's not some alternate universe. This is a clip from an episode based on the Emperor Joker Storyline, in Earth One continuity. It is in fact canon that at one point the Joker acquires the powers of a being from the 5th dimension and does unspeakable things with them. I feel that you're taking this clip out of context, as Batman does end up winning. Think about that, Batman beat a godlike being. That doesn't seem like ridicule to me.
@ccggenius This point is very true; while I've never really taken to the series (I do adore Dietrich Bader, so I watch the occasional episode), it is quite faithful in its incorporation of interesting and lesser-known comic story lines. One I enjoyed was the Mignola-inspired episode with Etrigan (one of my favorite secondary characters). The show basically fills a story line void in Batman's history; there's no place for extra-dimensional Joker in Btas, TNAB, BB, or JLU.
@Bosco239 I know that was, is, and always will be the best Batman cartoon, (if Justice Leauge is not counted, and if it is it would be tied with it.) But this one is still very good. I LOVE the throwback to the silver age.
@Bosco239 Of course we win. But the Brave and the Bold was cool because it gave us a cartoon based around the late 40's/50's era Batman. Pretty cool if you ask me.
@Bosco239 that's simply not true, yes, our generation had Batman: tAS, but this generation has this, AS WELL as easy access to that. If that argument doesn't grab you, how about this: This is from Batman: tBatB, based on the comics of the same name. They were designed to showcase minor DC characters to people alongside someone marketable. That is to say, this is not a Batman cartoon, it is a cartoon with Batman in it. The emphasis is placed on how others interact with him.
It fails by referencing batman stories from the comic books? because its campy? Because it lets other super heroes get some spotlight? If you enjoy a character who runs around with little boys in tights and fights a clown. Why does it need to be serious all the time?
How do you win? Brave and the bold is great in its own way. Its made by people who are the fans of batman and DC. It makes references to all other batman and DC stories (gotham by gaslight, red rain, TDK returns, emperor joker)
It's a nice touch that Bats turns into a harp-playing angel after he dies. That's a really old cartoon convention and it fits in perfectly with the Joker's mad design.

@70bellboy I thought Harley is a new character that they came up with in the 90s for Batman TAS.

@Hanna71617 I think the intention was to make her LOOK LIKE an older character by using a fake-outdated design. Possibly.

@tylerdw100 Have you seen "Legends of the Dark Knight"?
In one of the stories the kids told, the characters were like this.
Sure, Bob may have made Batman perfect for dark stories, but there was a time when that was not the case.
He has the most wacky adventures, he smiled, and used alliteration.
It's not the Adam West show. It's the Silver Age. There WERE comic books.
As for Harley, she's a relatively new character. They made her differently. That's the end of that.

My generation had Batman: The animated Series
I think we win.
Bosco239 4 months ago 133
@Bosco239 Well yes. But if Timm did this we wouldn't be having this much fun and laughing so hard
MrMegas2 4 months ago
@Bosco239 I know that was, is, and always will be the best Batman cartoon, (if Justice Leauge is not counted, and if it is it would be tied with it.) But this one is still very good. I LOVE the throwback to the silver age.
ThePoketeers 4 months ago
@Bosco239 Of course we win. But the Brave and the Bold was cool because it gave us a cartoon based around the late 40's/50's era Batman. Pretty cool if you ask me.
GoongalaGoongala 4 months ago 2
@GoongalaGoongala Indeed.

@Bosco239 agreed, this Batman makes me cringe. Batman FAIL! Joker FAIL! Harley Fail! Just all around SHOW FAIL!

@redraider21s
It fails by referencing batman stories from the comic books? because its campy? Because it lets other super heroes get some spotlight? If you enjoy a character who runs around with little boys in tights and fights a clown. Why does it need to be serious all the time?
AndyV002 3 months ago
@Bosco239
How do you win? Brave and the bold is great in its own way. Its made by people who are the fans of batman and DC. It makes references to all other batman and DC stories (gotham by gaslight, red rain, TDK returns, emperor joker)
If you can't enjoy this you not a fan of DC.
AndyV002 3 months ago
@Bosco239 Your damn right we do. Nothing beats Hamill as the Joker.
Ss9Brock 3 months ago
@Ss9Brock You're wrong. Mark Hamill IS the Joker.

@dergrosseomg He stole Bat-Mite's universe bending powers so he could keep bringing Batman back to life so he could kill him again.

cooldude1886 4 months ago 37
@cooldude1886 But Joker ALWAYS has a deliciously deadly punchline! No matter what form he may take.
Rita3500 4 months ago
@Rita3500 well its a scale of chaos vs comedy ledger being on the chaos end and BatB joker being on the comedy end but I think a medium can be struck
cooldude1886 4 months ago
@cooldude1886 you mean like Hamill?
