While watching this, I wondered about whether or not former soldiers who served South Vietnam ever returned to Vietnam to meet up with former enemies like these former American troops. I wonder what would happen if a Vietnamese refugee who escaped to the US would feel when meeting up with a former Vietcong or North Vietnamese soldier.

My Vietnamese friend told me their culture is forgiving. They also want to improve their economy so for them the purpose is important. I think it is important that America help Vietnam and promote peace there.

And communists would take advantage of their patriotism, or use scare tatic to get the votes. My uncle-then teenager farmer-went to north to join communists, but after "unification" he realized he was cheated and lied by the communists. Well, that was the past. And presently, Vietnam is still one of the poorest and oppressed countries on earth.
