@mrzskiller99 its got four wheels, fuck tard. no matter how similar any design of a QUAD compared to a BIKE is; bottom line is they are two completely different animals.
You will love it! The Raptor 250 is slightly smaller than a Honda TRX250X (not by much) but handles far better, is much lighter, and they hold up great. Change the oil and clean the air filter and it will run forever. The Raptor 250 is by far the best sport ATV for new riders, and one of the best sport ATVs ever built. John Arens
Oh really. Sure, it is heavier, BUT. I have a stock trx250x. Far from slower. Beats every 250 I have faced, including the yamaha pieces of shit. Yamaha also has dinky tires. It also doesn't have an oil cooling system, now does it. Therefor, the Honda will run at a cooler temp. Then we have ground clearance. If you want to go riding anywhere but a perfect little track, you will high center. The honda also has a larger fuel tank.
@shelbyfan45- if you looking for a first quad and youre 14 I'd go with the yamaha YFZ 250 it be a pretty nice one cuz it's manual and for a first quad you'd want a manual anyways because then you'd get some experience instead of an automatic which in my opinion a manual is more fun you can get a faster starts off the line and a better top speed if you know how to work the clutch.
Hi I'm 13 and 5'8 and one hundred and fifty pounds I am strong I was wonderin witch is good for me I want a lot of speed and I want a yfz 450 or a raptor 700r
@78Miller78 if its your first and your only 13, dont even think about getting somethin as big and heavy as a 700 (even if you are tall and strong). a 450 will be good for a experienced 13 year old, but if its your first quad, i would recommend something like a honda trx250, they have a new clutch for beginners which makes it real hard to stall, and it has reverse
@shelbyfan45 No im14 5,8 and 149 and i have a raptor 250 wen i first got it it was hrad for me but i got used to it and now i dont even think about it
I'm 6'5" and 270 my 12 year old daughter has a raptor 250 and i like playing around on it just as much as my 700. it would be ok for a taller rider if your a beginer but you could get sick of it not being powerful enough for you, also you'd have to contend with smart ass riders making fun of you or laughing at you . if your looking for a good ride thats still cheap,polaris has the trailblazer and honda still sells the 300ex and 400ex.you could also just trick the raptor 250 out and widen it.
hahahaha @TheNinjaHulk i know that the quad has durability becouse i did a 360 and then a 180 and it flipped over me and only the clucth lever was bent and this quad has a lot of power^^^
@TheNinjaHulk hey man if i were you i would go with the Honda 250 or even something bigger... 250s are easy to get used to and get old but dont get me wrong there fun!... the honda 250 has a drive shaft and its a little bit bigger. In my opinion its built a little bit better.
@TheNinjaHulk dude dont listen to the other guy honda 250ex are slow as fuck.. raptor 250 are bvest in its class, weight speed and durability.. and for your size it would fit perfect.. do reseach
The same as the recommended age for a 400-horsepower sports car. There are age minima that are imposed by law in various jurisdictions (and to which laws I am ideologically opposed). For a motivated adult male of average strength, tossing around a sub-400-pound ATV is pretty easy; however, dismounting *every time* you want to back up is a ridiculous pain in the backside for the trail rider, explorer and lightweight scout.
I just sold a bunch of stuff and now I can afford a Raptor 700 2011, 450 YFZ 2011, or a Raptor 250, which one should I buy, btw Im 12, and I can only afford one of them from the money I got by selling things.
Unless you have *lots* of experience, the 450 is going to be dangerous: it's power is more like "on" and "off" but the 250 has a pretty smooth power delivery. If you absolutely must have more power, go to the 700, which is much less radical than the 450 and not much heavier than the 250 (especially considering weight). For trails and creeks and pretty much any other recreational riding, the flyweight 250 Raptor is an ideal choice if chain drive is OK.
Racing imposes an entirely different set of demands from what ordinary users encounter. If you're running in a class that allows power adders and chassis modifications, there's no substitute for displacement. Out of the box, on a flat track, most give the edge to the 450; on the banks of a creek or in loose sand, it will dig a hole in the sand and go nowhere; that's no fun. On technical trails, the snap of the 450 will either get you killed or slow you to a crawl.
@gangstacornholieo For ordinary people considering a 250 Raptor, the 450 isn't a safe choice: it's a hairy beast. Yeah, when you can hook it up, it's way quicker than a 700, and it's a great track machine for serious racers -- but it isn't for normal people who want to enjoy a recreational outing, and it certainly isn't for those not having a skill set well above average. The CG on a 700 never hurt me; maybe it's just a matter of riding style.
@chancerbob95 get the yfz there way better,im 14, ive ridden both and there both a blast if you have money for both id get the 450, but im gettin the raptor 350 soon just cause the yfz costs nearly 9K
For a first ATV, you want something that has a reverse gear. At altitudes below 500 feet, a modern 125cc bike delivers decent performance for riders up to about 200 pounds at the very most (that's WAY more than the max weight "allowed" on the label); if you're heavier than that, or operate at higher altitudes, get a bigger engine. The most versatile 2WD choice is probably a 300-350cc ATV; the most economical is likely the 250. In 4WD, add 100-150cc to those recommendations.
Would this be a good bike for a 13 year old, 130-145 lbs, 5"11'-6"1'. I've never ridden an ATV but I've been riding motorcycles ever since I was 7 or 8, but I was never very good. I like jumps and speed but not huge slopes. And is this a YZ, TT-R, or WR, and whichever it is, what are all of them? I know TT-R is trail riding.
i just got a used 2008 only ridden for a year raptor 250 and it surprised me with how much power, speed, and of course stopping power. the only problem is i need a part for the hedlight. i do recomend this for beginers
I usually stick to dirtbikes but I need a quad that can hold jerry cans, is there any way to attach Jerry cans to this? Or any similar quad that isn't utility?
Hey guys, i'm willing to buy one of these machines, but, i am not very very experienced into RACING. more riding than anything else, is it a good start, to get this one machine ? Cause it look's very reliable.
Mine cost 2,300, but i got the 09, its a great machine, fast powerfull and its actually suprizingly great in the mud, but the only 2 problems i have is drying the chain because if u dont then it rusts and it dont have reverse, but really great suspension steering very predictible great machine, definately worth the money.
@66islanders dry the chain?? what a fucken retard, lube it up before u go out and dont worry about it. if ure chain rusts much u dont deserve to ride.
1.whats the lowest price of this atv?
2.Im 16 years old , tell me which one is good for me.. thanks

what is the recomended age for a 250 atv
TheMraseome 1 year ago
@TheMraseome
The same as the recommended age for a 400-horsepower sports car. There are age minima that are imposed by law in various jurisdictions (and to which laws I am ideologically opposed). If you've got good judgment, no significant physical disability and the bike is tailored to your physique, you should be able to ride pretty much any showroom-stock 250 ATV as soon as you're physically large enough to manipulate the controls. Without good judgment, you shouldn't get one at any age.

Well in the end I bought a Raptor 350. It was a tough choice, but 100 more cc's and reverse made me choose the 350
Lachman0102 1 year ago
@Lachman0102
The 350 with reverse should be a sweet ride. Lots of sports riders say you don't need a reverse and, while that may be true for a race bike, it's a pain in the backside to not have one on an ATV. For a motivated adult male of average strength, tossing around a sub-400-pound ATV is pretty easy; however, dismounting *every time* you want to back up is a ridiculous pain in the backside for the trail rider, explorer and lightweight scout.

is it better to get a raptor 250 or a bulldog elite pit bike 200cc
th3dogkid 2 years ago
Mine cost 2,300, but i got the 09, its a great machine, fast powerfull and its actually suprizingly great in the mud, but the only 2 problems i have is drying the chain because if u dont then it rusts and it dont have reverse, but really great suspension steering very predictible great machine, definately worth the money.
66islanders 2 years ago 11
@66islanders dry the chain?? what a fucken retard, lube it up before u go out and dont worry about it. if ure chain rusts much u dont deserve to ride.
