@camaspey they make apartment antenna's you can buy off of e-bay, but they don't really get out that well. the best thing to do is put an antenna outside, like a 102 inch stainless steel whip from radio shack.
@TheElpuma94 I just got done installing one in my car. Well if your going to wire it straight to your battery, you want to get ahold of some good sized wire ( i used 8 guage) if the power lines coming off the box are too short to go directly to your battery. If their long enough, your going to want to find a hole in your firewall. An easy way to do this is to pop the hood and see if you see any holes in an open area in the engine bay where other wires might be going through. If you see one, then
@TheElpuma94 wire that through connecting the red wire to the possitive, and the half black, half red wire to either a very good ground, or the negative line on the battery. After that, the hard part is done. Next for your antenna, you just want to find a good ground ( i have mine on the hood of my car ) and then just connect the antenna to the radio, and find a channel and start a talking.
i got one for free out of a car wreck. car was totaled, radio had some nasty scratches and dents but still worked perfectly. opened it up and the circuits were totally unharmed. i installed it in my car with a 40-80-120 watt linear(lo-med-hi power)with my wilson 5000 magnet mount. right now i just have it mounted under the cup holders in my crown vic but im thinking about getting a police console for this radio and a few other neat gadgets i have. great radio.durable.reliable.highly recommended
this radio is definetly worth it. i have one at home that was tuned for extra performance and it workes great. Perfect with a 5 or 10 amp power supply. skips great too... definetly worth the bu
i think this radio is worth it, this particular model was the very first radio i ever had and it is worth it, it is a really good radio especially if u have limited space
you can turn the mod up and also the swing set the carrier at about 2watts and drive low drive amps with it really well i use one to drive a fat boy amp in my jeep through a 102 inch steel whip and when i get up on the mountains i love to talk skip with it its a great little radio and cheap
