From the view that we see it looks like she's blocking the plate idk what ur rules r but we can't block the plate witch means we can't stand on it or infront of it we have to stand behind it or to the side

am srry 2 butt in but the catcher got knocked out cuz she waz in a bad position i been a sftball player since 4ever & she did a good thing of taking her helment off but she didnt positioned her self right =/

Bad body positioning. Not knocking her at all. Just most coaches don't do a good job of teaching that little skill to catchers.

why take off the mask im an all-star catcher im 14 and ive been cactching my whole life and i've never once been told by a coach to toss my mask only if its a pop fly ball thats it.

And its true you see the ball better when your mask is of or when its to big and your in action the mask will move and cause you to make a bad throw!

Wow that was brutal! The catcher is one tough girl to hang in there like that. Very odd of the baserunner to slide like that. Does the fact that she was wearing shorts (odd choice for a uniform in this type of sport) force her to kick her knees up in the air to avoid skinning them? Not sure about softball... but catchers are always taught to rumove their mask to make any play at every level of baseball.

but only some people do that some people find it easier to find the ball without the mask on where as i find it easier with the mask it is personal preference

And that is a fundamental. Flipping the mask off to c where the ball went is one of the first things u learn.
