  • This song came to me in a dream last week after listening to my 80's collection. It took me a while to remember the lyrics and I had to Google them to find the name of the song. I'm so glad I did! I remember exactly where I was when I first heard it. I was laying on the living room floor listening to my boombox and I taped it. LOL. Great song!

  • I met van back okla city back in the 70s he Love the Lord, he was in a in small group that sang Gospel there were 3 of them Bobby Springfeld John Emitt. He and I became good frends Van and John and my self rented a town house in Franklin Tenn out side of Nashvill it was a good time in my life we all knew the Lord I wish could have said good by to him.,we lost track of each other over the years. He was A great frend and know I well see him some day... Thank"s Ronnie

  • This guy made a couple of the best melodic rock albums of the 80s, underrated!!

  • Great song that i remember after all these years, even though they don't play it on the radio...why not!!! I just tried to buy this on Itunes and no luck....great song, thanks for sharing it. I'm very sad he had to fight cancer, it's a hard way to go.

Very original lyric hook, that's really unforgettable!

  • i was a Disc Jockey at our High School Radio Station in the 80's, I always loved this song and i knew who the artist was, but this was really the only big song from him that i ever heard. i always wondered why we never heard from him again. it was a passionate song and he did it so well.

  • i remember covering this song in the eighties..

  • Sweet it's 2010 I was sitting wondering, damned wish I knew who sang this song I had recorded off radio onto cassette in the 80's,then lost, was miss-spelling Delilah on google and never found anything, decided to look up the spelling in Judges of Samson & Delilah in the Bible, then googled it,man what an awesome classic & watched the video few times after finding it here.Didn't realize that Van was also member of wicked country group Blackhawk & was the one who died, huge fan of them as well.. RIP!!

  • Always loved this. Was appreciative of Van's song since my name is Delilah. I was young and beautiful back when.....

  • Wow, hard to believe this is the same guy from the country group Blackhawk! This song and video just screams the 80s!

  • I am in an '80s Cover band, in Central CA. We're adding this song to the line-up, at my request. It fits perfectly with our theme.

Van- If you're up there listening, I hope we do you proud.

  • stepdw01....david? the girl across the street in 7 hills has lost gail's email address. if you see this tell her to email me windshadow29@gmail. I had a dream about him a couple of weeks ago. and he wasn't dismantling my bicycle in the creek!! shaun

  • Van is greatly missed and greatly remembered.....especially for his famous garage bands that drove the neighboorhood parents crazy!!! miss him

  • An 80's classic RIP Van.

  • 26 years later, it still sounds as fresh as it did in '84! A timeless classic!

  • This song just popped into my head for no apparent reason at work today. I couldn't even remember the artist..I just vaguely remember the album cover. Lol.

  • @gothos1000 just read my comment ...above.. exactly the same!

  • Van and Dann collaborated on each others future projects with Giant and BlackHawk ! Awesome musicians. RIP Van youre missed.

  • @bedank: you can unlove Kiss, but don't say it's a bullshit!

Nothing compares Kiss and Van Stephenson: Kiss makes Hard Rock and Van Stephenson made A.O.R.

    I love 'em both

Don't be so exclusive, open your mind ;)

  • πολυ playback ρε παιδι μου!

  • dann huff rocks! awesome song!

  • Me too.The greatest song ever...

  • i agree with you Christopher711... Me too.I love this song.I thing it's one of the greatest songs ever!!!

  • I could listen to this song over and over again.

  • Dam, this is a way better song than that KISS bullshit, never heard of the guy singing it though, but he's good...

  • For fucks sake just because the songs have the same name doesn't mean they are identical or anything. Fuck off.

  • Hey you little faggot, watch your fuckin mouth, now go home and scare your tennants.

  • @bedank

Come on--two very different songs- very different artists.

  • cool songs !

it seems to be Dann Huff on guitar !!

  • THIS GUY IS NOT SHIT

  • oh shit i thout this was a kiss cover lol

  • hahahaha same here

  • I didn't realize he's the Van Stephenson from Blackhawk.Damn they were good!

  • Yeah, Dan Huff tore up that short but awesome solo!

  • Love this song. I remember in 1984 I was working in the color darkroom at Kent State as a photo student, hearing it on the radio at the same time as Nik Kershaw's "Wouldn't It Be Good" so I always associate the two songs together.

stepdw01 sorry to hear Van passed away, 47 is way too early.

  • The drummer kills me. Great song!

  • Hey! I think the drummer there is Mike Baird -- the guy who drummed once for Journey (along with American Idol's Randy Jackson on bass.) Either the audio/video sync is way off here or Mike had no clue as to the tempo of this song ;-)

    You are sorely missed.

  • like this song!!!thanks for post...

  • I am Van's younger brother. I know he would appreciate that you like his music. I remember those early years flying back and forth from Nashville to LA. He told me a story of being at a party in LA and tripped on a carpet and landed up in Robin Williams lap. Robin said "people are always falling all over me". Oh well, Van loved life and was not ready to leave. Fought his cancer till the end.

  • What's up cuz. I'm not really sure how we are related but I know I am Van's cousin. God bless him

  • @stepdw01 prove your his brother

  • @stepdw01 Sorry for your loss truly. Maybe we are related as we have the same last name!! Contact me me if u wish. Van was so talented best wishes to u and ur family

  • Van is my cousin. It is very sad that he died;even though I never got to meet him. Black Hawk is an awesome band!!!

  • Great guy, you can tell by looking at him. Shows you that melanoma can strike anyone. God rest his soul! His music with Blackhawk was timeless, this great song was only the beginning. God bless the 80's and Van.

  • Interesting title.

  • Great song, RIP Van Stephenson :(

  • song kick ass

  • He was such a BABYDOLL!!! Check out Blackhawk's "Goodbye Says It All"!! That video is so funny to me. Van's a little older, and he's STILL a BABYDOLL!!

  • Blackhawk did an ablum called love and gravity, he completely changes his look for this album, it really made him look younger then he was.. Im not sure if seen him during that time or not

  • did not know he had passed away, that is very sad. also learned he was in the country band- BlackHawk during the 90's. did he write this song?

  • awesome song. just discovered it- but i am pretty sure he is lip singing here, watch close how far he pulls away from the mic

  • Does anyone know where to find the original music video for this song?

  • hoosierscot, it's over to the right, with "Delilah's" in pink in background! Man was this THE video in 84 or what! I loved this song and never forgot it for 20+ yrs. I was soooo glad when I actually found it on here. It took a couple of months but YT came through!!!

  • This has got to be one of my MOSTEST, BESTEST songs ever! It definitely IS along with all of the Journey with Steve Perry songs!!!! Unforgetable!!!

  • I'm completely addicted on this song and this guy...

The lyrics are great...just Like it could only be...from Van Stephenson :)

  • This was great. Interesting that in the next decade, Dann Huff and Van Stephenson was known more for Country Music when Stephenson joined Blackhawk.

  • great song, i drive with this song while driving down miami beach, in jeans, and white pointy shoes!! then i look for a girl with scissors

  • great song

  • one of 80's best..!!

  • Almost on cue, this song would always find its way to my radio when I cut work and took a drive down the shore to Seaside Heights, NJ. As I listen, the windows in my Blazer are down, it's warm outside, I've got my 1985 girlfriend next to me, and the warm breeze is going gently through my hair. It doesn't get any better than that.

    Miss you, Van.

  • I was in Cosmatology school when this came out, and it was pretty much our theme song! What a trip in time..whenever I mention this song, it's like no one remembers it but ME!

Nice to know others DO know and love it.Thank you!

  • Awesome trip back in time! R.I.P. Van :(

I have the 12" single of this, someday I'll convert it to an mp3.

  • I did not even know he had died.

  • i had this one on a 45 single in '84 i think it was...another timeless 80's tune!

  • The actual video used to be on here, about a year ago....too bad they pulled it...it was rally good

  • I agree! I haven't seen the promo music video in years, and would love to see someone post it. VH1 Classic's web site doesn't even have it posted.

  • It's too bad they didn't post the actual video. It was a good one. This was my favorite song when I was 8 years old.

  • yes the Video was GREAT!!!!

  • just got the righteous anger album for Christmas. Best gift I got. Awesome!

  • This was MY song in HS I love it. I ordered it thru Amazon it cost 29 cause they dont make it in the US any more they import it from Germany I just dont understand why they werent more of a hit but, as I said this was my song in HS, my twin had another & our best friend had another, we would always play the 3 songs on Road Trips. I ran my cassette out & my actual album has ONE scratch in the middle of this song. I love the CD got it Monday & its been playing in my Jeep ever since.

  • I haven't heard this since the late 80's and forgot about it. Too bad you don't hear new mainstream music that's as good as this anymore.

AWESOME TRACK! I'm going to have to dig on eBay for the album.

  • Best Rock tune of all time! RIP Van.

  • OMG I haven't heard this song since the 80's!! Thanks for posting - a rare gem

  • OK, now this is great! I recognize Mike Baird on drums for sure. And it's Dann Huff on guitar, yes? (Although I can't recall ever seeing him do any steps like that before!) I could be wrong though. Kinda blurry. I'm positive that Dennis Belfield isn't playing bass here (right?), but I won't even touch the keyboardist. Still it could be Alan Pasqua for all I know. Does anyone know???

  • Yeah, it's Huff on guitars and Baird on drums but I don't recognize any of the others.

  • Maybe he liked the song a lot too and was jamming out to it!!

  • Thanks for sharing!
