i wouldn't describe the soka gakkai as a cult. it is a very sophisticated buddhist "lay organization" that claims to practice "nichirenism." the abuse it inflicts on its members is mental and emotional. the sgi uses brainwashing and various subtle mind control techniques in order to get money from its members. i left the sgi years ago, yet i am still affected by the mind control techniques that the group's leadership used on me.

i don't know about "sexual torture," but the group DOES use sexuality in order to attract new members. it uses a form of "flirty fishing." i get the idea that most people who join the sgi either (a) are already romantically involved with one of the group's members, or (B) they WANT to become to become romantically involved with a specific member of the group.
