America loves everyone. America as an idea is so great that it doesn't matter where you currently reside. "American" to me isn't correct. It's not an "American" thing for people to want to do what they want and be who they are. To everyone in Great Britain and Europe, Russia, and Everyone everywhere... We see you as brothers, sisters, countrymen, and above all, Friends. Politics is terrible and it has turned the world against itself. I, from America love you and we are all the same.
The USA. Surely the only country on earth where constantly pointing out the differences between themselves is in some way promoting the idea that they are all unified.
@roobend Given our history regarding issues of race I'd say this is quite a remarkable statement. Consider the fact that lychings were still occurring just 50 years ago and fast forward to the present where we have a black president...there's so much about this country that I'm ashamed of but I can honestly say that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
"In a tragic event, that's a remarkable statement about the country."
Personally, I find it remarkable that they find it remarkable. It's like they're surprised to find out that they're a multicultural first world country.
Despite all its problems, I'm proud to live in a country that can elect a black president.

There aren't many other countries that have the (geographical) diversity we do.
