I LOVE this video. I'm very interested in millinery, and watching this made me ache to expand what I can do. Unfortunately, I'm settled in a place where I can't find the materials, let alone take a class. It's so frustrating being at the end of what you can do yourself and not being able to find someone else to teach you!
The video is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing. My husband, myself AND our 10 year old son (he loves hat making) has started a millinery business. We are trying to find a sewing machine for millinery and we are having a difficult time. Where in the world can we find one like the arched ones you guys use? Thanks!
Love the video! How did you do all this when you were working out of your house? Can you give me some pointers? I was looking to get into this business. I would appreciate any advice! Thanks
nice to see REAL beautiful hats..and by that i mean no glue...i recently started making hats to match the dresses i made, since i love the victorian style and could find nothing of a slightly victorian nature in hats in my area....the only diy videos of them i found involved cardboard-esk materials and lots of different types of glue...fine for a kids project...not for a beautiful ladies hat....yours are just perfect!
Your video and story is an absolute inspiration to me. I am a hat maker myself but mine are knit and crochet. I am just in the beginning stages of my business. I love how you started out in your living room and moved into your own factory. That is so cool. Your hats are really beautiful and I enjoyed seeing how they are made. There is just something so very special about a hat that is completely hand made. I'm glad I stumbled on your video. I hope I get famous like you some day :-)
A friend took me to Saks 5th Ave yesterday and said, I'll buy you a hat! She really liked the green hat you made, which Saks had in 2 colors (seen in the other video, the very first tobacco-green with a big flower). When I tried it in the store, one of the women standing nearby just went "Ah!", and by the look on the face of my friend at that moment, I knew I was getting the hat for Christmas! We found your website, and from there this video. You make beautiful things and you made our evening!
Green is my favorite color! Congratulations on your astounding success! And many thanks for this delightful, inspiring, enthralling vid -- now I know that I need to wear a hat in order to make a hat :)
Louise Green you are inspiration! I am a millinery student in Ayrshire Scotland, it is wonderful to see Louise sharing her experiences with us, its great to hear of someone who started a business off at home from their lounge and is now successfully suppling shops all over the U.S. Well done!!!
NEAT! i love crafty type stuff! A lot more goes in to these type of hats than i had originally thought.. I thought it was all done on the sewing machine and hand XD

Fabulous!
Please think about making more instructional videos. This one was terrific.
How about one for just flowers or other accessories but in greater depth.
Best Regards

It was hard enough doing this one but I'll think about it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
