it's certainly one of their great songs (amongst allot of crap that they released after rattle and hum). but they still come up with songs that flaw you like this one occassionally now. yeah, his voice is a little shot on this version. he's not hitting the high notes, but it must be hard getting out there every night and doing it. you might have a cold, sore throught, or just not feel like it.whatever, it's the feeling that counts imo, and this has heaps.

To all those that think his voice is gone two thoughts. He is a rock star, he knows his voice isn't strong after the tour so he picks a song that will capture the atmosphere taking his voice into consideration. I think it added to the song. Also check out Bono busking on Xmas Eve in Ireland on youtube and tell us he has no voice left. He is in top condition, yes after some rest (he has sung for 30+ years). He is singing on a street corner only a microphone, I think, Enjoy!

You listen to these guys enough and you'll relize that Bono is always nervous at first and it shows in his voice but after a couple of songs he's on FIRE! Unfortunately this show didn't give him enough time to "warm up". It doesn't matter though, cause "soul" is all that matters. Some singers are perfect in pitch but lack that. I'd rather have soul!

Bono's voice is so dynamic...so much texture and so much passion behind every word he sings....most enjoyable voice in music...but again, it's all subjective :)
