  • Welcome to splash world!

  • 0:33 u ohhh

  • Poseidon smash !!

  • CIVIL ENGINEERING FAIL

  • Not a Water Main break. This is a storm water sewer. The reason this happened is because there is so much water runoff going into the pipe, because of the heavy rain, that the diameter of the pipe cannot handle the amount of water flowing through it. Storm sewers are open to the atmosphere and therefore are not pressurized. Once the pipe fills to the top pressure builds and that pressure causes the manhole to fly off and the water to "explode" out.

  • This is a storm sewer blowing out not a water main. Should be interesting ti hear how he explained to the insurance agent.

  • It took me a while to realize the huge gaping hole in the median.

  • That will be a good one to tell the insurance company.

  • A water main break does not stop until the valves for it are shut down. If that was an actual water main(potable water) that geyser you saw would not have stopped due to constant water pressure from the main. Most likely it is a forced main, sanitary or storm, i do not know which. In which case, your centrifuge pumps will kick on causing the inner chamber main walls to pressurize and then geyser. de-pressurizing when the pumps turn off. as seen in this video.

  • We had this happen on our street one day. I was walking down the street and noticed little fountains of water coming up from the cracks in the ground.

About a block up the street it finally gave and left an 2 FOOT CRATER in the middle of 24th street!

Needless to say, traffic stopped. lulz!

  • there was a bloke near it the second time lol

  • hilarious

  • ur rite hilarious hahahahaha........roflol

  • its a forced storm main, to big to be a forced sani, i build water main covers have ntn to do with water just storm and sani

  • Got to agree, thats not a water main. For a start, the mains are sealed and don't have whacking great manholes over them. Also, look how the flow stops almost straight away when the lid comes off, if it were a big main, it would probably be pumped so the water would keep coming. Still, a pretty awesome bit of CCTV.

  • notice that after the lid comes off, it happens again with the car driver outside!

  • no way is that a water main!! i work for the water board and believe me they do not have man holes coverin them, and why wuld a water main be running down the middle of a motorway! i now its in america but they work on the same principle its like wat walkabouttigger said an overloaded storm drain!!

  • Yuot might run too! :D

  • This is actually an overloaded storm drain whose dogged cover was edge-struck by a OTR truck, flexing the cover thereby undogging it and causing the overburden to lift the lid completely off the road surface. The lid, or manhole cover struck an oncoming vehicle.

  • Actually it is this is Live Fottage and it was Derived from a Highway next to a watermain the cause of this eruption was in fact a water main Busting

  • @WhiplashFreak umm...actually that is a storm sewer line under a highway, and a large one at that. it is more likely there was a torrential rainstorm that overwhelmed the drainage line and caused a sudden, and violent, eruption as a result of too much water all at once

I have seen it happen before

  • Not a water main

  • lol shya

  • HAHAHA! that was halerious look at 1:24

    that guys running away!

    ha!

  • hahahahahahahahhahahahahahaha
