  • I did another recipe and had one out of 4 that after placing in tin found out it all stuck together in one big blob. This recipe on the other hand, I have made about ten times. I can't screw it up! I actually go the whole minute on the end, for a total of 8 minutes, nice and roasty. Thanks for such an easy brittle recipe.

  • To bad the people in the background won't shut the hell up while this guy is filming.

  • Nuntheless... I'm SUBSCRIBING! I'm your 93rd subscriber!

  • That must be it, I have a VERY large pyrex measureing'" cup "with a handle... & it might be my mrcowave. Thanks for walking with me through this!

  • I'm getting there... with your help the color was right & it foamed & got a little lighter. So far, after a half hour, it has not become "brittle" yet.

  • The entire thing should become solid within less than 10 minutes or something has been done wrong. Make sure your Microwave is set on "high". Mix together 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup light corn syrup. Cook in microwave for 4 minutes. Add peanuts. Then cook for 3 to 4 more intervals for 1 minute each time, stirring quickly in between intervals. Add the butter, vanilla, and baking soda - stir, then put onto baking sheet prepared with nonstick spray. Ten minutes later it should be solid.

  • If you have a heavier gauge bowl, or a weaker microwave, you may need to increase the 4 minute additional cooking period by up to a minute or so.

  • Excellent!

I made 2 batches,( useing another persons utube tutorial) last night that failed.( not crispy, more like taffy). I didn't even feed it to the dogs, afraid it would pull their teeth out!) You have shed some light on what I need to change. ( the 1 min. segments at the end). Also what a great technique to boil the water for quick cleanup!

I'm going to try yours today & will let you know how it turned out. Thanks, I was about to give up!

  • @cheesestr4wz Curious to hear how it works out for you! Good luck!
