In the whole interview, he doesn't show an "85 foot wave". Those are 30 foot waves at the most, because surfers measure the wave from the BACK, not the front. He did surf the big waves, but he's not THE king. He's one of many, but his breast beating is kinda pitiful here. Laird Hamilton is already known for being unbeaten, and on the most dangerous wave known Teahupoo (pronounced "cho po"). Just do a search here to find it.

To those who can't find it, that day was documented on film - check out the movie Biggest Wednesday (not Big Wednesday). It features all sorts of big wave surfers on that swell (in addition to Bradshaw) including Laird Hamilton, the Willis Brothers, Cheyne Horan, and so on...what's not 100% clear in the film is which wave is supposed to be the 85 footer.

What do they mean "Bradshaw's record still stands"?? Mike Parson's holds the current world record at 70ft. Google it. Correct me if I'm wrong. But I don't think his record is official.. and that doesn't look like 85 ft. It's a monster though! He has more guts than I have!

In the whole interview, he doesn't show an "85 foot wave". Those are 30 foot waves at the most, because surfers measure the wave from the BACK, not the front. He did surf the big waves, but he's not THE king. He's one of many, but his breast beating is kinda pitiful here. Laird Hamilton is already known for being unbeaten, and on the most dangerous wave known Teahupoo (pronounced "cho po"). Just do a search here to find it.

The problem here is there was no film of Bradshaw's ride.
Mike Parsons had the biggest on film -- 66 ft -- at Cortez Bank -- 100 miles off the CA coast, but that has been broken, as well. Parsons was again filmed surfing a 70+ foot wave in 2008. This is now the world's record.

that Teahupoo ride was so overrated. it was sick, but search for any other pro surfers carving the same barrel. some of those breaks are thicker if not bigger. but anyway. it's just because it's "laird effing hamilton"

To those who can't find it, that day was documented on film - check out the movie Biggest Wednesday (not Big Wednesday). It features all sorts of big wave surfers on that swell (in addition to Bradshaw) including Laird Hamilton, the Willis Brothers, Cheyne Horan, and so on...what's not 100% clear in the film is which wave is supposed to be the 85 footer.

I'm not a real surfer - But my clothes suggest that I am! I LOVE Hurley! I wear all the shirts to middle school. I guess I sorta surf, I just stand there and get my feet burried in the sand by the waves. But anyways who cares? Ive been to the beach a few times. But HURLEY ROCKS!

Could we get beyond this ego thing? Bradshaw is one of the world's top surfers. It's foolish to compare. I began surfing in 1963, but I never rode anything like this. An overhead wave has always seemed huge to me.

thats bullshit the wave he surf on that big wednesday was with a load of other top surfers and even the likes of ross clark jones say it wasnt 80ft. it was 50ft
the world record is currently with pete cabrina who rode a 70. 2 ft wave at jaws about 3 years ago, 80 ft is a load of shiit and he know it..

Bradshaw is full of shit. Laird and several others have beat his ridiculous claim of "85 ft" wave. Bradshaw's best ability is to promote Kenny. I know his secrets, his ex girlfriend was Vicki Vaughn, and she was my ex who still told me about his lame attempts to be a big wave surfer hero. Laird Hamilton holds the biggest wave ever surfed title. Nobody made a movie with Kenny Wannabee Bradshaw's big surf claims.

What do they mean "Bradshaw's record still stands"?? Mike Parson's holds the current world record at 70ft. Google it. Bradshaw's supposed wave of 85ft. was never documented and therefore never officially made the record books. I'm not even sure where the 85ft. figure came from exactly. I'm not saying it isn't possible, i'm saying there is no photographic evidence only eyewitness estimates.
