I really love Beautiful Souths melodies, so optimistic and joyous, hate their lyrics though, so cynical and jaded. But hey I still listen to them, I just add my own lyrics when singing along!
You really should consult a dictionary before trying to correct someone.
It's " their "..not " there "...look it up...you moron.
You were right..what a backfire...on your part...also..scrotum is not a naughty word, it's a medical term...another backfire...why not quit while you're behind ?
@QueenReigns1 Ah I see the confusion, I was referring to my 1st reply and you were referring to my 2nd reply. Yeah I know the difference between their and there. Anyway you're a tumour dude, please leave youtube comments to people above age 16. Cos you really look like a fool right now. This is my last reply to an obnoxious brat like you.
@QueenReigns1 Well, technically speaking, using ... ellipsis in place of proper punctuation, while correcting their spelling and grammar, does make you look like a bit of a tool. In my opinion.
Probably my least fave song of theirs, felt too much like an attempt at writing "A Little Time 2". Rate them highly as a band overall though, very much under rated.
A band I admired up to a point. After this and "36D" I stopped buying the singles bar one. It changed a bit after this and Briana left. One last great track followed in the form of "Good as gold" ' melodically and lyrically, but after that I switched off. 'Rotterdam' puzzles me, a big hit but not up to past standards. A horrid song that thankfully doesnae get any airtime now.
@makeajazznoisehere Aha in my opinion, you're just wrong about everything. When Briana left the band, yeah they changed direction a bit, but everything post that song was still classic Beautiful South, and they made some brilliant albums post the Briana era. Personally, I think Jacqui Abbott was the best of them all, they really made some good stuff when she was in there. Superbi was where it really went, a bit of a let-down last album...
@audi4725 Just found out by google that they are back together minus Paul Heaton(who has gone solo and is due to release a new album). But they have changed their name to The South.featuring ex members and players of THE BEAUTIFUL SOUTH - Dave Hemingway & Alison Wheeler (Vocals), Dave Stead (Drums), Damon Butcher (Keys) and others. sounds interesting. Hope they will play their old stuff as well as new.

@cobweb1230 Oh believe me, brilliant doesn't even come close to desribing how good they were live, I had the pleasure of seeing them @ 'V'99 in Stafford, they were my highlight of the weekend! My low point of the festival was being landed upon by my 20 stone exbf in the "A" moshpit , the first time I had seen him in 5 years.
@purplelady179 Appreciate the face you love beautiful south but it's not, and I mean this with respect, "Good old music". Glad you like it though unlike all the other crap that's flying around in today's generation.
@purplelady179 I agree, I was only bout 16 when i first heard this in 94, blinding song and a blinding album as are most of theirs.............and im an oasis, doors, floyd, kol, libs fan, i know good music when i hear it and BS are good !!!!!!!
awsome voice yes. is she really the miserable mare everyone makes her out ot be though? claims of her walking off stage and not liking lyrics and such. makes any admiration of her singing talent sink some tbh.
this is the dinner prepared this is the dress that i made this is the child i brought up and this is the women you laid this is the women you laid this is the perfume i wore this is the hotel we stayed this is the way that i lay and this is the women you laid this is the women you laid we promise ourselves this is no one night stand lets draw all the curtains and strike up the band and im thrilled by the gentlest touch of your hand we pretend
Beautiful song, Id almost forgotten about it as its not on the Best Of (anyone know why??) and like many Beautiful South songs, the words have more bite than the melody would suggest. Thanks for posting it
