TijoKjose your comments show too much disgust for the creation of the natural park in India. I think deep down you are disgusted with US natural parks and reserves as well for you would rather these lands were just given to the people. It saddens me that you said "nature sucks". Such a sweeping statement. We are all a part of nature.
You're commenting on this video. Of Course you have internet access! Do you think people would be willing to relocate by choice? The India government doesn't compensate anyone. I know, because I was born in Kerala. It's called "Eminent Domain." It's a feudalistic law that allows the "liberal" elites to steal land from poor people and pretend they are being benevolent by saving the environment. Eminent Domain is also used in America.
Land grabbing is not the privilege of government even private individuals and business enterprises are also often guilty of this. It does not distinguish from rich or poor. It is a question of power, number and always lack of moral values. It shows that man at his worst makes enemies not only of innocent creatures but his fellowmen because of greed or the desire to covet what is not his.
A business does not steal, a business offers a product. A consumer has a choice. A consumer will only buy the businessmans product, if that was the best alternative for him. If a business forces consumers to buy its products, than it is not a business, it is either a mafia or a tariff-imposing protectionist government.
Unusual. You dislike nature but you have to allude to a fish to make a point. You'd make an interesting study for communication practitioners. By the way, I took a whole sem of Aristotle and Socrates in Philosophy. That is what my students tell me, I use the "Socratic" method.
This is my last response to you. I hope you reconsider. The Almighty created creatures in his name and for his glory.
By the way, do not blame government without it there would be anarchy and man will be reduced to bandits bereft of laws and rules. Government is made of people. As I said we have no one to blame but ourselves... we were not satisfied with the rule of the Almighty.
I never said I was an anarchist. Your use of straw-man arguments shows that you cant make an intelligent argument. Its also ironic that you would bring up theft, bandits bereft of laws and rules. Ironic, because theft is exactly what the government did. The Indian government stole land from villagers and gave it to the tigers.
TijoKJose, you seem to know so much as to how these relocations were conducted. I am guessing you live in that area or are just making things up. Anyway, that is why you have governments, they are suppose to make things right for both the people and their lands. By the way, who says I own an internet connection? Do you know me personally?
The government forced people to leave their homes, so that tigers could live? Something is fucked up here! Theses people have lived there for generations, and the government just forced them out? This is what happens when liberals impose their western values on the developing world. People are sacrificed for animals.
I think you are short sighted! If tigers were not seen when the people were around they obviously feared people, perhaps some of the people killed them!? I'm not liberal however do think that nature needs to be preserved and in this case I am sure the relocated people were compensated. Besides the human population is expanding at a great rate and left to it's own devices will expand and kill all nature and then the ecosystems will fail us. This was a good thing regardless of your end goal.
Very true. These people have been living along with the Tigers for thousands of years and they understand each other. Its the "other" non-tribal urban-dwelling people who are the problem for the Tigers. It was the British and Indian elites who almost endangered them. Tigers can flourish even with these people around.
In fact, the problem has grown more now because of the millions of tourists flocking these forests to see Tigers.
Tigers have lived in these lands perhaps longer... we just keep on populating every inch of space we can grab much faster. Even we humans have to watch others squatting on private lands due to population explosion. These tigers won't get the chance to survive without help from government.
You wouldn't be saying that if government agents took a gun to your head and said "Get out of here or I will shoot you, because tiger lives are more important than your life"
You have the luxury of living in a house with an internet connection. You have no right to tell these poor people to get up and relocate.
Anything other than mice and rats can be considered rare and beautiful though! Hunting should be limited to food collection...in areas without a Costco.
it is ironic isnt it. people go all crazy when a wild animal kills or hurts a person, but the reality is PEOPLE hurt, torture, and kill alot more people then any animal.
you are so right i hait those who hunt animals tigers are amazing predetors and we almost extincint it all animals should live thier lives without anybody killing it
@panaba Tigers are literally the most dangerous nonvenomous land animals on earth. They are hunting and killing machines and they kill hundreds of human beings every year.
@SethBorgo You are wrong. First of all tigers do not kill hundreds of people every year; they kill tens; and they do it because we invade their land and destroy their habitat. And they are not the most dangerous nonvenemous animal: sharks, crocodiles, rats, and mosquitoes (nonvenomous) kill more people each year. The only animal in the planet that kills for pleasure is the human being.
@LesCRNI somebody's never seen The Dark Side of Dolphins...its interesting and id recommend it. it puts the whole humans-are-terrible-and-should-be-exterminated thing into perspective. the reason why humans look so bad is because we are all over the place (and people forget that we aren't some superior race but animals as well, driven by instinct), whereas other animals do "evil" in their own ecosystems and its labeled natural behavior.
@luexiana I agree, I would like to see the documentary. However i do not think that humans should disappear. Instead, we must find ways of coexisting with all the other creatures that live in our planet.
that tiger is literally cutting through water like a speed boat. sheer power.
