I really want to sing this song for open mic night at my school but I'm a chick and this song is too low for me. I can sing it this low, but it sounds stupid. When I try to sing it an octave higher, or whatever it is, it's too high and it also sounds stupid. Anyone have an suggestions? I don't know a whole lot about music theory, so is there a way to find a key right in the middle somewhere?

Very well done there! great acting, great singing. If this was a dramatic and unacted song, I would not be saying this, but you acted the song brilliantly, also you had the audience listening to every word, which means that you have thought about all the lyrics etc.

I have to respectfully disagree with laundrybasket1. I believe that, as an actor, your first job is to connect with the audience. Judging by their reactions, they understood perfectly your intentions and objective (i.e. humor). So good job. Your audience's reaction is much more indicative of your performance than the critique of a single youtube user.
