  • I played this game called midtown madness 2 about 10 years ago. They had a San Francisco map and I'd always come to this street, drive straight down and trash my car lol

  • @Stet17 It would have that effect

  • only in san francisco

  • @MrBritler I guess so

  • It's a great view from atop Lombard street. I drove down it this 4th of July after the fireworks. San Francisco seems like a great town.

  • @upinflamezzz I really like it

  • There's always someone on here, who tries to deliberately defy everything they see, hear, taste, smell or feel.

It's been happening to me for two days straight.

    I hate when that happens.

  • @vickiormindyb Just ignore them

  • But Vermont Street is much more crooked than Lombard Street!

  • @Sokra01 Nobody cares

  • what a lazy dude lolz

  • I was there in 1994..I love this road and I love America! (I'm from Germany)

  • @marcelkade I love the city!

  • @AngryAussie I also love the city, not just the road^^

  • im from ontario but i went to san fransisco for a family reunion and we stopped by this, amazing.

i loved it there and was sad to leave, but i was happy to leave from walking up thoses streets.

  • It's a great city

  • actually the crookedest street in the world isn't lombard street anymore. now it's wall street!

  • bwahahaha

  • indeed

  • Whatever street the White House and The Senate are on.

  • @illinoisboyinchi hahaha love it! SO true! (your comment is old so i'll remind you, wall street comment, being most crooked)

  • @AccessorizeAlways lol thanks, (O_O) wow, i can't believe i got highest rated comment! >jaw drops<

  • There's a Lombard Street in Philadelphia, but it's not twisty or on a hill.

I still got lost trying to find it. Then this guy with road rage chased me all over Center City, b/c I accidentally cut him off. He chased me all over the place until I finally remembered to pull into a police station.

He was so crazy I thought he'd follow me in, but he left.

  • There are a lot of crazy people about

  • When I went to San francisco, we got lost. My Dad was driving and was in a bad mood and then we stumbled across Lombard Street. No way out, and a raging man at the wheel made for a memorable experience. We all feared for our lives!

  • That would have been freaky

  • Listen to Bill Cosby's "San Francisco." haha.

  • Curvy! Just like the people in SF

  • They made it to fit in!

  • Wow, those hills are really mental. The windiest downhill street ever, that looks tricky to drive down.

I imagine with all those hills, most of the natives should be in pretty good shape (unless they drive everywhere). ^^

  • You wouldn't have much excuse to be out of shape

  • To lazy? Haha! I have to walk up those streets every day!

  • I'm too lazy

  • I don`t know why, but this kind of reminds me of Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls, CA.

Probably because it`s such a strange street XD.

  • I'll take your word for it :)

  • i've been there, and yea it kindof does minus the cheap tourist traps

  • Haha, better than expensive tourist traps.

  • true =p

  • I LIVE IN SF

  • Lucky you!

  • I know that street! Did you know that people do Big Wheel races down that street every year on Easter?

    <3 Crazy Random Girl

  • That would be fun to see.

  • My wife and I went to San fran a few years ago, That was a great street and really pretty. The entire city was pretty awesome.

  • It's a great city.

  • Hey, don't feel bad, hon. I smoke about a pack a day and I'm overweight... I would probably die on the way up there. Looked pretty cool, though.

  • It was a tough walk but worth it.

  • Why does it look like a bad green screen. I believe that it's not, but wtf is going on with the camera.

  • It's on the end of a stick

  • jose the camera on a stick

  • The camera on the end of a stick is useful

  • I wonder what the person who designed that street thought in the morning " oh hey I am going to make the most ridiculous road that will inconvience everyone!"

  • I think it was designed to be a tourist thing

  • Angry Aussie mate when i saw the title of this i thought you was commenting on Lombard Street in London uk.. now that street is the crookedest street in the world.. full of bankers and banks!(money meltdown any one? lol)

  • hahahahahah nice one

  • that's cool. We got a similar street where u have to climb a mountain to get home. Don't worry, that one has stairs (like a million of them) and a cool scenery.

  • Sounds very cool

  • wow

  • theres a road like that in GTA:San Andreas lol its almost exactly the same i never drive down it i fucking jump it :D lmfao

  • Yeah, this is what the street in GTA is based on.

  • i know ;)

  • Haha, it DID look like green screen magic when you were in front of Lombard Street. But the background was too realistic for it to be green screened. Glad you had fun in SF, even though the steep hills really do kill you. =P

  • It was a great city.

  • The comedian Bill Cosby had some legendary things to say about Lombard St. :D

All I'm sure of is that the hills in California have scored off most of the paint and metal from the underside of our front bumper from us driving almost straight down one road into another road which is FLAT! (Pretty sure there are hills out there which are steep enough to flip the car over on its nose)

  • There are certainly some hills that longer vehicles can't get over.

  • There are DEFINITELY some of those... Every now and again a limousine gets stuck, which is hilarity! My honda won't climb out of the Marina District on Fillmore or Divisadero in any other gear but first! If I shift, the car pretty much bogs completely down.

  • I remember the drive in the VW the night we visited your place faced a few challenges.

  • lol. it really does look like a green screen

  • I knew it would when I shot it ;)

  • this is NOT the crookedest street in the world, Vermont Street is more crooked, go see it, its in SF

  • Take it up with the tourism people, not me.

  • It's SO much fun to drive down at 3 AM...

  • That could be fun

  • now... THAT was a time for the BFC....

  • I was kept alive by constant infusions of energy drinks.

  • mikma was here

  • Haha , dat whole city´s kinda crooked ...

  • It sure is in an up and down way.

  • Lombard Street is quite fun!

  • It's very popular.

  • That hill IS murder. I've only ever walked down it, so you're braver than I am.

  • It was a bit of an effort

  • Your camera must be weird, or its the contrast to your bright T-shirt that makes it look like a green screen, but hey - I belive that you were there.

  • I really was! ;)

  • no words.... wow.... :-)

  • It's a nice city.

  • Watch the old Steve McQueen film "Bullitt"

  • I loved being there!

  • My word that's interesting...Thanks for sharing with us!

  • I like to share.

  • No way I could walk up that. I have no energetic side to me at all

  • I walked HEAPS in SF

  • been there! Done that!!

  • It's cool

  • Ooh, a monster of a hill! Kinda reminds me of part of the "Princess Diaries" though. ; )

  • Haven't seen it

  • Hahahahahahaha, who the fuck makes a bad road like that?, drunkern people :P

  • I think so!

  • not saying I don't believe that you walked up there but: because of the contrast of your shirt it looks like you "chroma keyed" it

  • I knew someone would think that

  • love san fran but walking in that city is a BITCH!!!

  • Man I don't doubt it, y'all can have it! : P

  • I like walking around (I avoided the hills)

  • It would suck walking up that hill but the view from the top is stunning!

  • It was worth the effort

  • That's what you get for consuming those sugary lemon pies and monster drinks. They make you unfit. :P

But seriously, that hill looks like a bitch and a half. Well done for taking it on and making it.

  • I had to burn some of the junk off.

  • I heard you. and cut out all 30 1hrs breaks :P

    That hill looked easy!

  • I'm pathetically out of shape.

  • lol i remember being there..haha

  • It's a great place.

  • Damn, just watching the vid made MY legs ache!

  • It was very tiring.

  • i remember walking up that hill it sucks so much

  • But a nice view.

  • It's windy, but not as windy as the roads in the hills in central Europe. Now THAT'S windy as hell. I should know, I had to drive down those things with an old volkswagon.

  • Sounds like fun

  • its lucky you had a clear day.

wouldnt have looked as spectacular covered in fog

  • Yeah, I've seen it shrouded in fog.

  • the walk may have nearly killed you angry but it was worth it right! lol

  • I think it was worth it.

  • heee all the cool streets from 'whats up doc'

    looks difficult

  • It's a tough walk

  • It's a tough walk

  • I want to skateboard down those streets.

  • That would be mad!

  • Wow! effort and a half

If it ever snows in San Fran, that'd make an awesome ski slope

  • Or hail would make for good skating.

  • Angry Aussie posts is one of the most consistent youtubers for posting up videos. Nearly 3 a day sometimes.

  • There will be 4 today :)

  • I love Lombard St.. We were stupid and walked up there street where you have the view of Alkatraz, where the cable cars go up.. It was like murder, we had no cash for the cable car either

  • The walking gets tiring very quickly.

  • If I remember corectly, back in 1980 something my parents tried to drive a motorhome down that because my mom told my dad to do it...I barely remember it, I think Im blocking it out..lol

  • Sound sfreaky!

  • What's the point in green screen if you're actually there?

    or were you...?!

  • Ha Ha, green screen it is not. Just a trick of the camera.

  • I knew somebody would think that.

  • Yeah, I've seen that happen in another video, but I don't remember what it was...

  • yeah that did look like green screen

    was it? ; )

  • No - camera on a stick.

  • man fuck walking up there lol

  • It was tough!

  • woah

  • San Francisco, my old haunt and uni town. The hills are killers...try walking home after a night in the bar! Hey, I was younger then. Now days if I lived there I'd have to give up walking or drinking. Personally, I think exercise is over rated. Cheers.

  • I only walked on flat streets while drunk!

  • very cool..at least there was lots of pretty flowers you could stop and pretend to admire as your lungs collapse..

  • There was plenty to admire.

  • is it me or does 0:51 look like a green screen (you used that tripod trick i know)

  • Yes it does, AngryAussie is one of the best in video editing.

  • I thought that too.

  • I knew it would look that way.

  • Andrew, nice video. So you like the hilly streets in San Fran, eh mate Ha-Ha!

The streets in Seattle Washington are exactly the one there, and years ago both cities used to have the Rice-a-Roni cable cars, running around the downtown area.

  • I prefer walking on the flat bits!

  • Cool. If you ever get to UN Zud check out Baldwin Street in Dunedin...Steepest in the world.

Shit ROLLS down that one sideways mate. lol. When you go down it your seat belt stops you from being pinned to the windscreen. It's almost hands and knees material.

  • i found a street like that proberly not as step as the one ur talking about but i know what it's like going down a steep street

  • @ physcoticweirdo

    Google Baldwin Street.

  • That sounds freaky!

  • Cool view, and interesting street.

  • I love the views in that city!

  • I live in Burlington, Iowa and we have Snake Alley. Which used to be the worlds crookedest street.

  • There are a lot of crooked streets apparently

  • I used to skateboard down that bad boy, when I was young and I thought I was indestructible. Too bad we didn't have video cameras back then!

  • hahahah that sounds wild!

  • something tells me hang gliding down it would be a lot faster... :)

  • That sounds pretty fast

  • Beautiful footage! You were in the heart of earthquake country!!! That area and Lombard street are a must see for everyone!!!

  • It is a fantastic city!

  • Lombard Street, crookedest street in the world, so they say. I have ridden down it, walked up it, and man, how old are you if you have trouble getting up those hills in San Fran? Don't you Aussies have any hills?

I hope you get back in shape. LOL

By the way, 5 huff and puffs for this video!

    LOL

  • I am old and weak.

  • that is a killer hill and street, even in a vehicle.

  • That city is full of killer hills!

  • I love that street! It was fun going down it when I was there in 1992.

  • It's worth the visit!

  • It must be impossible in the snow

  • I shudder to think.

  • Those hills kick my arse...

  • I was pretty knocked around.

  • Cool beans!

That bottom end of the street was the final scene in the "Hulk" movie where The Hulk turns into Eric Bana and he meets up with Jennifer Connelly!

    5 *****

  • Indeed dear sir, cool beans indeed x)

Nice vid man, loved the song and feeling of it :) Keep it up

    5 ***** here also

  • It makes for a great shot!

  • Andrew, if it doesn't kill you, it makes you stronger! ...and the view from Lombard Street is always worth the effort, one of my favorite places.

    Cheers.

  • I must be bloody strong now

  • I'd hate to live on that road

  • There would be a constant stream of tourists.

  • It's been a long time since I've been to San Fran, but I do remember that street.
