hey Bokadude i so agree with you. I remember like every year in the 70s Rolling Stone mag would always list GFR as the worst band of the year. They had to be listening to some one else..
Grand Funk went against the grain. First and foremost they weren't British which in 1971 seemed to be a big problem for music critics and the rock elite. They were high energy, and they could cut hit records. The assholes like Rolling Stone would have loved the funk if they were degenerates, homosexuals, or junkies. Fuck the rock and roll hall of fame anyway Grand Funk rocks!
Most of the vocals on the WAAB track were sung by Don Brewer, with Mark doing a high harmony track. Karl Probst is the keyboard player and he has a good voice.......Mark accompanies him to copy the original 1973 recording.
@iceaxe56 You said that Farner was GFR this song was written by Don Brewer , for this reason he catn sing this song , have you evre listen the bass and the durms in songs like Amiless Lady , Heartbreaker , TNC please dont be ignorant
Ladies and Gentlemen, step right up to sign the petition to get GFRxR in the Hall of Fame, and also to get your bus ticket (that'll be a PARTY BUS ticket) to Cleveland. Fattdaddy at the wheel and PackedFunk at the microphone to narrate over 40 years of FUNK music and history. ALL ABOARD!
...lets not forget annaleee69 passing out ice cold refreshing beverages from her UNLIMITED FUNK COOLER! You must join the MOVEMENT first, just sign the petition and you're in baby!
GFRxR created their own genre of music & The People reacted enormously by becoming the first band to sell 10 consecutive platinum albums & breaking ticket sales records wherever they played. fattdaddy3755, WALNUTS52, & myself are trying to correct the fact that GFRxR are ignored by The R&R HOF. Please join us by signing the petition in this video's description. Thanks everyone!
In 1969 Mark Farner wrote a song that appears on the "CLOSER TO HOME" album (Nothing Is The Same) Powerful lyrics y'all. Mark ends the song with, "I can flash through future years and NOTHING is the same." WORD UP Mark! It was all real different back in those days. FUNK ON PEOPLE!
Everyone expand the description to this video & click the link to sign the online petition to induct Mark Farner & GFRxR into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

Good Vocal - but it's not Brewer. No Substitute for the original members.
