I agree with what the commenter below says. This is a really good animation as far as skill and craft. Some interesting concepts of technology and magic, but neither is really goes far enough to define itself. It is not clear why the bad wizard would want Nazi films specifically or what his intent was, nor was it clear what the good wizard's beliefs were. Everything is ambiguous and vague. A better film on same topic would be Jim Hansons The Dark Crystal, thought its not my favorite either.
Wizards, one of the last views of the 1940s; there is about a 30-year lag from finishing education to empowerment--we see it in culture as it is a mix of old and new to create current events. This one missed the mark, it is famous in science fiction circles; but it seems to have needed another rewrite and another viewpoint. The fairy outlook is really funky, and we fail to see higher truths--often mythology and archetypes--thus it is a simple story, make lots of popcorn & buy a case of beer.
It's about a wizard who creates a demonic army with nazi's & this is still a PG movie? holy shit!!
